Inspired by Dalen's ice cream thread.

Well? Which is it?

I'm a malt man, myself.

I do not know what the difference is but I prefer shakes because the one time I had a malt, I vomited something fierce. Also, I do not like the taste of malted milk balls.

Malt. It's all about the thickness

I don't know what a malt is either, so I'll vote shake.

I've only had a few good malts in my lifetime, which is very unfortunate.

Malts have such great flavor, but I do prefer shakes [especially really thick ones]. I like a smooth texture as well, no nuts or huge chunks of fruit. Damn, that sounds sexy.

I also prefer home made shakes [like tonights!]

Malted milk powder is a powder made of malt and powdered milk. James and William Horlick created the idea and formula for malted milk in Racine, Wisconsin in the late 19th century as an easy to digest high protein and carbohydrate powdered baby formula. They originally called it Diastoid, but soon changed the name to Horlick's Malted Milk. Added to ice cream milk shales for thickness, sweetness, and flavor.

"My boy, you do speak truth. Assuredly that was the means by which we devised the emulsifying agent typical of the iced-cream malt".

If you asked for a malt here you'd get a whiskey - which I'm saying is better than any damn milk shake.

And yeah, it's gotta be Horlick's.

Depends on the flavor, but if I had to choose just one it's be a chocolate malt, hands down.

I chose "Malt" because "Egg Cream" wasn't on the list.

Edit: Dammit, that's two threads now that my post has been pre-empted. Egg Creams still rule.
