Though I wasn't bold enough to go out on a limb with this one in the Obner Survival Football League, I am predicting a Raiders upset tonight. Raiders + Randy Moss > Patriots - (Teddy Bruschi + Charlie Weis)...not for the entire season, but perhaps this first "ambush" game.

I actually put down lunch money on the Under on this one.....I wouldnt bet against The Pats if they were playing an all star team comprised of the '72 Dolphins, the '89 49'ers, and the "rape" '78-'79 Oilers........

Carl Mauck and Mike Barber used to frequent my great uncle's bar down in Galveston back in those days. I think Pastorini may have even joined them a time or two. That Mauck was one full-throttle SOB! God, did I love the Oilers during the Bum/Earl era. If only instant replay had been in existence for Renfro's catch against the Steelers in the '79 AFC Championship Game, those mofos just might have actually kicked DAT DOOR down...

GALVESTON???? Jesus Bubba.

Thats funny, I just watched that '79 AFC Champ. game (again) on ESPN Classic about 2 weeks ago and you are totally right but I think the Screw Job was already in before they even kicked that one off.

Shit, the Bumster (not to mention EC) probly bet 10,000 on the Steelers that day.

Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen.

John Madden is trying his damndest to be the worst announcer in sports.

They should put Namath in the booth. One of the best things about living in NYC was getting to watch Namath call the pre-season games.

"Well, the one thing you don't want to do on third down is take a sack."

"The QB threw up the pass, the receiver caught it...it was a good play!"

Pure gold.

"If you like offense with your hot dogs..." only works because Randy Moss is playing, but you know Madden didn't mean it that way.

The important thing to remember, Al, is that whoever has more points at the end of the fourth quarter is going to win this football game.

Madden don't look so stupid now after that Tim McGraw thing. ABC sucks. I'm surprised they don't have a corporate sponsor for each damned yardline.
