Did anyone else watch this documentary on Discovery last night? I thought it was great... gave best gueses as to what happened and who might have done what. Pretty powerful stuff.

Didn't see it because as you said it's all guesswork as far as how things went down and who did what. No doubt they're all heroes though.

I actually caught a documentary on History Channel. I had no idea that there was this Delta plane allegedly involved.

And this AirKorea flight that literally almost got shot down somewhere over BC.

No doubt it would be a shitty deal for those on the plane, but I guess I would want the government to shoot down a plane that was believed to have been hijacked, rather than have it hit a heavily populated area.

I don't see any other option. And no I don't think this was the case on 911

They made mention of this. They said that while the F-14s had orders to do so, they received them 28 minutes after the crash and were 150 miles away.

There was also a prop plane that witmessed the United plane about 5 minutes before the crash.

Regardless of what really happened, we know that the passengers came for theirs.

I missed this and wanted to see it. I hope they replay it.

No, I don't think there was anything like that going on on 911. I have always been suspicious of TWA Flight 800 which exploded in mid-air in 1996 shortly after leaving JFK.

I thought this originally, and part of me still believes that it happened, mainly because of the obvious direction the plane was heading (toward D.C.) BUT, since those passengers are now heroes, the real story may never be told. I think that the most tragic thing may be that the passengers did gain control of the plane, and still may have been shot down.

Not really. While I'm sure that those persons whose family members died might disagree:

I dont consider it a tragedy that some folks died to spare either the Capital or The White House....Not as many people would have actually died as who died at WTC....it just would have been an incomprehensible blow to this country if either of those buildings had gotten hit..
