that a lot of the people at the Farmaid show are hippies? Some beef farmer was at the Chipotle around here tonight and my friend brought up Farmaid. I said those people all into vegan type shit are hippies. Maybe that is an ignorant comment, but I remember people at school pushing veganism on people were straight up fucking hippies. She went nuts on my comment.

By the way...I had no clue what Farmaid really was till tonight. Looking at the lineup though, why the hell would I have known? thanks for any insight.

I only just made that conceptual leap myself--sure as hell thought this was about some new band called Far Maid.

Indie kids are the new hippies BTW. No question in my mind.

I noticed a lot of the emo type are vegan, seeing as though I have a few friends like this. One of them was vegan but her nutritionist strongly advised she began eating healthier because her body was nutritionally deficient, so she's not vegan or vegetarian anymore. My other friend isn't vegetarian either, but it still seems to be the cool thing to do with all of their other emo and straight edge friends.
I'm not saying hippies (I agree with you on hippies) and people who are "emo" are all vegan or only vegan, I just find this practice is prevalent in those two stereotypical groups.
