just power-watched the entirety of the first and second seasons with my roommate this weekend. i'm way excited about that it didn't get cancelled, although i still think this show is far far too good for network tv. 8/7 central!

Franklin was one of the funniest things on Season 2, and it was a pretty damn funny season.

Michael: Dad's right... we're brothers and we can't be fighting
GOB: Yeah... I already lost a brother today
Michael: Franklin?
GOB: No, but he's all puckered in white
Michael: On the bright side, you can take him to lunch at the club now.
GOB: That's just the kind of joke he would've loved

Taking a dead guy to a restaurant/club was played out for being funny shortly after Weekend at Bernie's...

Anthropomorphizing the deceased.

I can see conceptually what yr getting at, but what does that have to do with Arrested Development? Because all puppets are technically anthropomorphic.

I put a note up reminding me to watch this tonight since I don't have Tivo. I think the subplot with Buster faking to be a vegetable to continue his "affair" with his nurse will be great.

Oh. It's a puppet/marionette.

I didn't know. I thought it was an actual human sibling.

That was going to be my next question. This show isn't exactly known for it's over-the-top Berniesesque humour. Well, maybe. Buster's hand was eaten by a seal in Season 2.

I can't remember too much of what happened in season two. Where did we leave off?

I think George Sr. escaped and joined the Blue Man Group. Oscar was arrested in his place. Tobias and Kitty left on a trip. And George-Michael and Maebe kissed again.

Is that everything?

That was the last episode I saw but I can't remember if that was the season finale or not.

It was "Raymond"s last year, though...a Best Comedy win was pretty predictable.

AD on Monday nights will be perfect for me. It'll be a little pick-me-up after watching the Packers lose every Sunday.

They would have been smart to put season 2 on DVD before this season so those who aren't already fans have a chance to get drawn in. I don't know what they were thinking.

I just think that these past 2 weeks have been so clogged w/last year's TV on DVD releases...Plus, they probably got a late start on everything, since it was renewed semi-last-minute...

(Hopefully) they'll do a catch-up marathon for Season 3 later in the season...
