I don't car what the fuck they call it. Just that it will crush everything in its path. When's it come out?

According to the band, this is supposed to be a relative departure from their previous two albums, which will be a welcome relief. I never felt the appreciation for Room on Fire, which I have previously called the most boring album ever created.

I have heard that as well. That the vocals wil be more prominent, etc...but I still expect some rocktastic tracks.

For the record, I like Room on Fire better than Is This It.

Gotcha...I didn't know if you were really on it, or just paying me lip service. Maybe I should just send you a PM everyday with your "commitment" like I do to folks who give us money?

Dear Dalen,
Thank you for your personal commitment to get me pirated copyrighted material of the new Strokes album from the INternets. It is people like you who are helping destroy the record industry, but I don't care, cos this thing could make my year.
It is friends like you that allow me to have extra money to do things like drive back and forth from the ATL every week, and drink heavily. Your support means a lot to me, and if there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to call.

Sincerely,
Senator LooGAR

hahahaha!

I'm dead ass serious. The Strokes are one of my fav bands dude.

Now let's hope they don't get all electronic or end up sounding like knock off Dylan. They could release 10 more albums that sound similar to their first 2, and I'd be happy.

I really wanted to like the album. I played the shit out of Is This It. To me when threads about disappointments come up, I use Room on Fire as my metric. With the exception of 12:51 and The End Has No End those songs, despite mainly being under 3 min long, just put me to rest.

Also, I think we've had this conversation already. I'm getting serious deja vu.

I know we've had this same convo, maybe in a few threads, actually. I think Bloor and I are in the minority of liking Room on Fire better, and that is not a slight against Is This It. My most played album of 2001 was easily Is This It, and it may have been the most played in 2002. My most played album of 2003 was easily Room on Fire. (Last year's, if yr. keeping score was undoubtedly Salesman and Racists)

I feel the exact same way

I think the best songs on 'Room On Fire' are the best things The Strokes have done but 'Is This It' is overall a more consistant album. That's my view anyway.

I don’t know how the fuck this happened, I’m mean I know but people sometimes blow my mind.

I have a new computer with speed in the 80s at times so I got this in less than a minute. It sounds like a demo and is a bit of a departure of sound for them.

Juicebox is the new single from them actually. Thanks for the link Bee.

Sounds like they've been listening to Franz Ferdinand, which isn't a bad thing. At least they didn't get all quiet and boring. I'd dig on an album full of uptempo joints like this.

YEah a little "jauntier" or more angular and dancy than what I might have expected, but it has whetted my appetite.
