THANK YOU for these. I will be going to the DC date, as long as they play a lot of their older stuff.

Hmm. That's more material from the last couple years than I would have expected. Still, it may be worth going to actually get to see "The Man Don't Give A Fuck" live.

i was disappointed with them the last time i saw them, so i've been waiting for their next tour to see them good again. i am definitely on this. it'd be worthwhile just to hear "ice hockey hair" once. that setlist looks incredible.

If you have a good crowd, "The Man Don't Give a Fuck" can be transcendental.

I have only seen them once and that might have been the first time they ever toured America. That was for the Guerrilla tour, with my friend Ian, at a small place in San Francisco called Bottom Of the Hill. Ian wasn’t a fan of the band but afterwards he went out and bought every record of theirs. They were so on that night that it was downright scary and the crowd was going out of their minds, I miss SF so much. It was a great place to see bands because even though there are typical hipsters in San Francisco, crowds love their music and when bands played they, for the most part, got into it.

I wanted to see them with Granddady on this last tour but couldn’t make it. I will be there for this show in Los Angeles.

edit: maybe San Francisco loves the music because of the Amoeba effect...

They def. toured for Radiator - that was the first time I saw them. (At the teeny-tiny Lounge Ax). And the crowd was out of our minds that night, too. Shoulder-to-shoulder, undulating in-unison to "The Man Don't Give a Fuck".

Like I said... Transcendental.

Not to call you on this but… Radiator didn’t get released by Flydaddy Records until a year after it came out on Creation Records. That is the reason why they added the Outspace collection to it. We are talking about the same tour

Yes, after seeing hundreds of shows it is hard to get motivated to see shows these days. The main reason is because in San Francisco I could see any show and it was within 2 miles of my apartment. In Los Angeles I have to drive and drive and well it just doesn’t seem as worth it anymore. I really want to meet you (and Ned) though…

Not that I should be surprised, because no one I actually wants to see come here, but let me whine anyway: No Phoenix-area dates?!

"Calimero" and "Receptacle for the Respectable" are pretty much two of the best songs I've heard or seen in a live setting.

I was starting to question myself. I saw SFA on October 6, 1999 and Guerrilla came out in America on July 13, 1999 (I bought mine around July 23; I love the Amoeba sticker as they date things). Creation Records put it out on February 6, 1999 in the UK.

Todd if you have an early date (from your ticket stub) I would love to know that they came over before 1999 but I’m pretty sure they didn’t.

I remember that my favorite songs from that night were songs on Fuzzy Logic. SFA had this bizarre 360* sound system with them. Songs like “God! Show Me Magic” would just twirl around in sound and make your head explode.

Fuck what a special band and they are in the here and now. The new album is getting mixed reviews but in the grand view of rock music today, I’m very thankful that we have a band that is this innovative and take the blue collar approach to music. Don’t like them this year? Well next year they will have a brand new album out that will sound like nothing they have done before. How many bands can truly say that?

I don't have a stub, but i KNOW that it was before 1999.
Because in 1999 I quit smoking pot, because my first child was on the way.
And I was stoned out of my mind for that show.
It was definately 1998 or earlier.

It's actually gotten pretty great reviews, despite what music forums would lead you to believe. But that's a different story.

Anyway, yes. That's the great thing about them. They cover so many styles, and they're successful almost every time. They're one of the few bands I've been listening consistently to for years.

They're really loud live. I'm wearing earplugs this time. I'm starting to worry about my hearing. :(

And they'd been to the states before '99. There's this guy on Hipinion who saw the band when they were touring in support of Fuzzy Logic. He said it was their first show ever in the States.

Again FUCK Hipinion!

I bet that is 100% a lie, embellishing the facts like always.

I do believe PopTodd however, and going to get to the bottom of this...

Shit, I'm gonna be in L.A. the week their in Minneapolis. Luckily I've seen them twice. I thought The Man Don't Give A Fuck was kind of a for sure thing they'd play since the two times I've seen them they played it both times.

I'm pretty sure this guy was telling the truth. He's one of the older (age) posters. I don't think they were specifically touring in support of Fuzzy Logic; rather they were in the States for some kind of magazine's festival or something. I don't really remember what he told me.

I posted for info on Cosmic Trigger. I just can't see how they toured for Radiator when Sony dropped them after Fuzzy Logic didn't sell. Years later Sony picks them up for worldwide distribution and rumor has it they approached XL Recordings/Beggars U.S. to buy this band back.

edit: i didn't really need to change that i to I but...

I looked and no they don't.

I have been into SFA since "God! Show Me Magic" and if they toured the West Coast before I saw them I would of been at that show. So they could of done an East Coast thing of something...
