Opinions?

I bought it, but it's still in it's wrapper. I'm planning to watch it tonight.

I though this started the 26th?
I haven't bought the disc, per your PM, but may pick it up anyway, cos I feel the need to own Bob Dylan and Stones releases, whereas most everything esle is disposable.

I cannot fucking wait for this though.

The dvd is out but it's airing on PBS on the 26th. Considering our PBS is out indefintely because of Katrina, I bought it (Probably would have bought anyway).

Watched it last night, and it's outstanding. It's the most forthcoming I've ever seen Dylan in interview as he seems somewhat at ease talking to Scorcese. Great interviews with Dave Van Ronk, Joan Baez, and other village folk singers too. It was obvious that Baez still hasn't gotten over Dylan. Lot's of great footage of Dylan on tour in 65' and 66' too. I knew most of stories already but seeing it told through Dylan and people like Van Ronk was great. Highly recommend watching this.

I watched it. Its weird seeing Dylan act like a human being...

I wish I had bought the discs as well, considering apparently they have some pimp liner notes and the DVD has none.

If yr. gonna still send those my way, you wanna photocopy the good parts for me tanner? ;)

That's cool, I think I may pick this up. Embarassing fact, i've never seen Don't Look Back.

I'm really excited to watch this doc next week. Guess I'll have to tape Tuesday night since I'll be at Bingo.

I've been listening to a lot of Dylan this week.

Wednesday: Blonde On Blonde
Thurday: Basement Tapes
Today: Highway 61 and Bootleg Series: 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue.

18,462 listens later, I still can't believe Blonde on Blonde even exists.

Edit: DumpJack: you should kill yourself for not having scene DLB.....

Cool, I say LooGar plays Meredith Hunter; when he reaches for his gun, me you and Derris play the Hells Angels and stab him, then beat him to death with pool cues.

Excellent.

Yeah, I know. The killing myself process has been ongoing for many years, like the way rain eventually wears down stone. Slow and steady.

Anyway, you're gonna have to hook me up with the Basement Tapes, because, as if I didn't already have reason to kill myself, I've never heard the Basement Tapes or any of The Band's proper albums (saw and enjoyed The Last Waltz).

You really need to hear the soundtrack for the Last Waltz; it blows the movie away in many respects (no edits) and is, undoubtedly, one of my favorite listens of all time. Some moments are great for all the wrong reasons, but overall, the playing is strong, the guest list is A+, and the mix (I have the newer version) is really strong.....

A must hear for anyone who likes music.

cool, i'll have to get that off you sometime. I just listened to Music from the Big Pink for the first time. Awfully good stuff. I should have heard that before, it's a Canadian band for all intensive purposes.
