i just waited in line for like 25 minutes for gas at a station here in SJ. As stupid and annoying as these lines are, they were working in a pretty orderly fashion. Everyone lined up on the rink side of the station accesses the pumps from that side, whether it be by driving straight in, or turning around and backing in. Everyone lined up on the other side, coming from the top of the hill , accesses the pumps from THAT side. This was all working very well.....

After waiting my 25 mins, it was my turn. I was next to pull up to the pumps. I waited while the person ahead of me came out of the station, and got back into their car. As I watched this, this old guy pulls AROUND the station from the OTHER side, totally BYPASSING the lineup on that side. The person ahead of me at the pump backs out. I see the old guy pull his car up at an angle across from me. He stops and waits. I think, "oh, he's gonna realize what he's doing in a second, and back off." The car at the pumps backs completely away. The old guy doesn't hesistate - he pulls right in. right in front of me, and the long line of cars behind me who have been waiting.

I watch as he gets out, part of me still thinking he's GOT to look up and see what he has just done. He doesn't. He pumps his gas, then walks into the station to pay. Wait awhile. He comes out laughing, like he's been shooting the shit with the cashier.

I'm a pretty tolerant person. People's ignorance and stupidity pisses me off, but a few more minutes out of my day isn't going to kill me. The idea that this old coot KNEW what he was doing occured to me, and infuriated me. But then again, he could be just so thickheaded and oblivious that he didn't know. Either way, the end result was assholery.

I was going to ask him if he realized what he had done, but he pulled away before I got my chance.

I guess my point is, some people wouldn't be so tolerant. Some other assholes would have called this guy on his shit. I can see how things can escalate. Over gas.

It's more than gas. There are unwritten rules to society that should be recognized. You should have pissed in his tank while he was inside. See who's laughing then.

come on man, you let this guy do this to you. It was your responsibility to take action and yell at him as soon as he started making his way out of his vehicle towards the pump.

Here's my annoyance of the day though it didn't effect me because I wasn't working that day, though I did have to deal with the first instance. So the firefighters in the town I work in are picketing because they want a new contract or have been working without one or something. A few weeks ago they were picketing at an intersection in Newton and they'd wait til the light would turn red and then s-l-o-w-l-y make their way across the crosswalks, tying up traffic. It's a relatively busy intersection but the cops were out there and they were kind of keeping traffic moving. I'd say it was maybe a 5-10 minute inconvenience and it was in the afternoon. So I read in the paper the other day that they picketed again at around 7am in an intersection near the Mass Pike and that traffic was backed up on the Pike for 20-25 miles. "Boo fucking hoo...I don't have a contract." It's not like they're not getting paid for the hours they work. There's people in this country without jobs and homes. Fucking whiners.

Someone cut in front of me in the bakery line at the grocery store tonight! I should have peed in a bottle and then poured it in her gas tank.. I don't have a penis so I have to take the extra step to get back at those kinds of people.

I really would have been angry if I had to put up with someone cutting in the line for gas, though. That's really inconsiderate.
