that Edan album sounded a little too 'white' for me...like Australian hip-hop or something...

Hmm...I've actually met a lot of people that are surprised to find out that he's white. But I really don't hear this particular album being racial in one direction or another. The use of somewhat non-traditional samples (psych rock) and "one long song" mix is what I find to be the most compelling or noteworthy element of the record--not a white or black hip hop sound. It's just plain kaleidoscopic at times...besides, it's all about the dude's hair now anyhow. :)

Dalek has an album out this year? I thought his last was from 04..?

i'm not really feeling the Common record.

the new CunninLynguists sounds good so far. the Oh No record is worth checking out. Perceptionists, Little Brother, Slim Thug all worth checking out for different reasons.

the one guy from Binary Star released a new one that people seem to be raving about lately...

Really? I didn't think much of this one. I haven't given it a fair chance though, I guess.

I like the Percpetionists album, love lif, akrobatik isn't my favorite. Ill check the other ones out though. I liked little brothers last one, and I dug masters of the universe, so I'd like to check out the last one mentioned.

I just bought the Cage album today and it's nice. Def Jux fans will be happy. Hell's Winter feels more cohesive than his first album and Cage toned down his shock raps too.

DJ Shadow brings the drums on "Grand Ol' Party Crash."

When is this out in the U.S? I downloaded it on soulseek, but it didn't have track names, and the track numbers don't match up to track lists on the internet. What I had sounded pretty kick ass, though. And there was a really positive review of it on Stylusmagazine.com--> http://www.stylusmagazine.com/review.php?ID=3324
(I don't know how to hyperlink things here)
