All I can find was a Diplo vs. DJ Shadow mix that made its way around in late August. Same thing? If so, here's a link:

I didn't see it until it was on this blog in Aug '05. Probably around sooner though.

Yeah, the Diplo's from 2004, but it's making the rounds right now. I just came across it myself.

The new Shadow mix is from that horribly overpriced boxset thingy and is called Funky Skunk. I'm looking for a ysi right now, as all the other sources I had expired.

i'll poke around for this tonight

by boxset thingy, are you talking about the deluxe edition of endtroducing? I was under the impression that was mostly older stuff that I probably already had, other than that live '97 track from England. Is there a something I'm missing?

btw... have any of you DJ Shadow fans ever heard David Axelrod?

He was obviously a serious influence on Mr Shadow.

Nice new compilation:

wasn't Shadow actually on one of his more recent albums? Or is it just the word shadow that is in the title to give people the right idea?

yeah he and Galt and Terry Riley are too far overlooked.

Axelrod was more than influential, I'd say. He samples his quite a bit on Endtroducing, though he manipulates things enough to make it his own. Still though...

Guys, I have had zero luck getting this thing uploaded to YSI and I don't have any available server space (50MB) for this on the band site. Argh. I'll give it a shot from home...Also, it's from the Public Works boxset, not the Endtroducing deluxxe reduxxe...it's a mixtape in the guise of that One Night in Bangkok (actually London) mix, Diminishing Returns, etc.

yeah, shadow's "dark days" is basically a thinly remixed version of axelrod's "house of mirrors." both damn fine tracks however.

I'm jacking this shit from emynd's blog because it's pretty awesome and people need to peep. You can download it at a few spots, here, here, or here. The mix kicks off with some southern rap goes into some funky shit and then I don't know what because I just started listening to this shit. But I like it so you should too.

thats all the info i have, from some blog i frequent
