Doubtful. It's not really a big deal over here.

I have a makeup phobia, which manifests itself as an intense loathing of clowns, wealthy older southern women, and most everyone on Halloween.

I am no fun on that holiday.

I'm giving serious consideration to being the Burger King.

i don't like clowns either.

however, i LOOOOVE halloween. it's my most favorite day of the year, by far.

i don't normally dress up. but we're allowed to for work...and my friend keeps pressuring me.

last year i was a hippie. (big stretch. i know. ha ha.)
this year, i'm not sure what to do.
but if i can't do it right, i don't want to do it at all.

In a reprise of my costuming of 1988, I am going out on Halloween as the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

I'm considering dressing up for the first time in years. I'm thinking Harvey Birdman.

I'm also considering having a Halloween party.

If either (or both) are to happen, I'll need some serious help from my gf.

Nope. Not a big fan of dressing up for it.

Plus the weekend before Halloween is our one year anniversary so we're going to be celebratin that one. Halloween day I take my son trick or treating. As a civilian.

Also, I have zero imagination when it comes to costumes. I always seem to be stuck in gothic/medieval/victorian mode.

i'm going to sit on my porch and take a drink every time i see a girl dressed as daisy duke. i expect to be shitfaced by 9.

actually, halloween is a huge deal here, and the party has turned into a riot for the past few years, so i think i'm just going to go to chicago or something.

I may come to work dressed as "incompetence," but I do this daily.

There are plans to keep things from getting riotous here this year. I am presenting on them for a class, come to think of it. We'll see what happens. For some reason, Minnesotans seems to delight in coming down here for halloween and then in the spring for the Mifflin Street party, only to get toasted and then start riots. When they round up the trouble makers every year, its like 2/3 out of towners.

indeed, although i highly doubt that closing the bars a whole 40 (!) minutes earlier is going to change anything. i say close the border.

Jim Doyle needs to declare war on the Canucks-South.

Have the first war between (two) states, therefore excluding the War of Yankee Aggression, since the Michigan/Ohio "Toledo War".

Think I can pose that suggestion and make it sound plausible? Because closing the bars does nothing but deny the city another 5-10 grand in tax revenue. Bars don't serve drunks, house parties do. Bars seat 4,000 tops, house parties serve upwards of 10,000 at a time.

Me either. So this year, I totally rectified the situation by going to Party City EARLY in the month, and just buying a costume. It's a 60s retro girl costume, with two-tone mini dress and cap, and I'll wear my black "go-go" boots. Plan on getting the fake eyelashes, going heavy on the black eyeliner, and finding a nice light metallic lipstick. Easy enough, right?

I mean this as respectfully / complimentarily as your forgiveness will allow...

Slutty / hot girl costumes are the ONLY thing that me wish I could go out for this holiday. But only if my wife weren't wearing one of them... don't need to get in no fights.

this has been the argument from anyone with half a brain ever since Operation Sting ended and the city started ruthlessly patrolling/going after the bars. some people think they should just keep the bars open all night, a la new years eve, but i'm not so sure about that one either. i think we should just do whatever mike verveer says to do.
