I heard one song that was almost-alright and one song that was godawful. I can't say for the rest of the album but I would say you should probably listen to it before purchasing.

Didn't like it. Deleted it off my hard drive.

I've heard things eerily similar to what Cotton said. Spooky. And since south pacific is pretty much my Bizarro when it comes to taste in music, I'm confident this new record will be my bag. Not a jab, just the truths.

If this is what estone thinks it will probably be my opinion as well.

Maybe in the US. It must have been a last minute thing because the Future Shop flyer had it listed at $12.99 this week.

Gave it one cursory listen when I discovered it had leaked...still like that one song a whole lot, but I suspect this is a grower.

Well no, I mean that's the part I like the best. People are complaining about the production but I like that aspect of it. I was just wondering.

Uh, someone lied to you. I'm listening to it right now.

I'm happy to go against the majority here: excellent stuff, some real growth from YFiiP, thankfully. I'm actually very surprised at the negative response this is getting - you guys would have been bitching had it sounded anything like YFiiP. Why not give it more than a partial listen before deciding how disappointed you are?

Does it come with the lyrics? I saw three people on another board violently fighting over the lyrics to "Major Label Debut". It was hilarious because they all "knew" they were right.

Nope, no lyrics. The booklet is filled with brief hand-written notes about the songs. Any of those people could be right; all of them could be wrong! Conundrum!

Not as great as YFIIP but definitely worth the money. I downloaded it a while ago but it took about two weeks before I really got into it. The fast version of "Major Label Debut" is a lot better than the album version, which I also like. I'm also one the few people that actually likes the burried vocals. The person behind the counter actually made a comment about how she didn't like this album because of it. Which I laughed at because a) she should be trying to sell albums and b) because she was wearing a Pink Floyd shirt.

Rather than "not as great," I'd say "not as quick to satisfy." In the long run, this album may actually prove to be the more rewarding one for those looking for challenging music. I just don't feel much of a need to listen to YFiiP anymore.
