Is the first track on everyone else's copies obnoxiously censored? It makes it almost unlistenable. I really want to get a real copy if there's one available but that means another trip out to the store and dealing with Best Buy employees.

I don't like the idea of the censored albums to begin with, but this track has the loud beeps instead of just being muted out or something. And they're pretty frequent. I've listened to half of the rest of the album and haven't heard any, but I haven't heard anything objectionable either. I just didn't know if they released an edited version of the album or if they're all the same.

Yeah, I think that's the same one. I guess it just seems obnoxious to me because I (and probably most other people) don't usually listen to Doom for the beats...although usually good, they're nothing really innovative...I listen for the wordplay and the rhyming, so frequent interruptions in that gets annoying easily.

They should have released two versions. But whatever, I'll get over it.

So there is only an edited version out?? Some Chicago artist did that a few years back and it sucked. (the edits, not the record)

Yeah, as far as I can tell. I checked on amazon too, and didn't see a parental advisory and edited version or anything, just one version.

I wouldn't mind muting as much as the loud bleeping.

I don't know if any other tracks on the album are edited or not, so if you're questioning whether to get it then listen to the track pumachik posted and see if it bothers you.

It's a track with Twista. I enjoy it. Just say the word and I'll give it to you...the track that is.

I didn't realize this was out today. I would have picked it up when I went to get the new Deerhoof. Oh well. I have too much shit to listen to anyway.

I can't fucking find a copy of the new Deerhoof. It's one of my most anticipated releases of the year (I gave it a couple listens and then put it away so I could listen to it a ton starting...today). A place downtown has it but it's 30 minutes away and they're selling it for $15.99. I've checked four places, and that's the only place that's ordered it so far.

It would be funny if there were musical waivers, so this thread would be detailing the acquisition of MF Doom and Danger Mouse by Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey to replace Keith Moon and John Entwhistle.

OK, maybe just funny to me. OK, well maybe not even that.

I just kind of let that slide. I wasn't going to say something, but thanks for remembering! When you can. You may have promised some solid Latin House too??!! Whatever you have time to send is much appreciated.

i think the bleeps are supposed to be on there....i think its a tie in with the whole 'adult swim' idea.....

those words would be bleeps out on t.v. so they are beeped out here too.

there is at least one spot where the vocals are muted (space hos)

and i love this album.....

the official release is slightly different than the leak that came out a few months ago....

I think Madvillain and MM Food both only came edited too.

I'm not really sure I'm enjoying this one as much as I expected. The reviews have been uniformly full of praise, but something about it isn't really interesting me. Maybe there's too much ATHF on the album, or maybe I'm just getting tired of Doom's monotonous flow. I loved Mm...Food, though, and most people were lukewarm at best to that one.

I'll give it a few more listens to see if it clicks before I get rid of it, though.

I think it blows, very dissapointed in this. Over the top with the Aqua Teen Hunger Force stuff the beat s are dull, wordplay is garbage.

i like it, but can't see it as even best-of-rap-2005. good tongue-in-cheek performance, but didn't blow me away. i'd rather listen to edan or even the game. however, it's a fun album which i don't regret DL'ing via emusic. (and i've only had 2 spins so far, so maybe my opinion might change.)
