I just saw that special on PBS an hour ago. The Wal-Mart executives seemed really nice in the interviews, sort of like happy demons.

Everyone already knows that the rich are inherently evil.

I missed it and have no idea what it was about. Was it pro-Wal Mart, anti-Wal Mart or indifferent? I'd be interested in viewing it regardless I think.

I'm reading In Sam We Trust by Bob Ortega. Walmart sucks.

that made me laugh.

It's fairly indifferent with that slight liberal bias that only Frontline/PBS viewers understand. ;)

Prolly a combination of unionism in Philly, and the PA Dutch in parts nearby. I cannot see either fathoming Wal-Mart, let alone allowing it.

I thought it was in Pennsylvania, but now I think it was Ohio (or Indiana??), where Wal-Mart created a horse-drawn cart lane for the local Mennonites.

This is incorrect. Every time I'm in PA, my family takes me to the Wal-mart over there. It may not be in Philly but it's nearby...;)

Now NYC, I can guarantee there are no stores in this area.

So "somewhere in PA" is close to Philly, but Long Island is not close to NYC?

Probably northern Indiana if it's here. Could very well be PA or OH though.

Listen, nobody asked you. There's a Wal-Mart, not 30 minutes away from Philly.

At least, you're learning the legal terminology at that fine school you go to. Money well spent. :D

I consider "none anywhere near me" to mean more than a 20 minute drive away. When it comes to Wal-Mart, that's an accomplishment. I think there are 4-5 that I could get to in 10 minutes or less from work or home.

Why are they demons?

Yeah, no Wal-Mart in Boston. That's a good thing, right?
