to get rid of before I place this order on BMG:

The Clash - Sandinista
GZA - Liquid Swords
Ice Cube - Amerikkka's Most Wanted
Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
Redman - Dare Iz a Darkside
Mr. Bungle - California
Blondie - Parallel Lines
Gang Starr - Daily Operation
The Roots - Things Fall Apart
Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music for Airports
Iggy Pop - Lust for Life

There's only one of these that I'm "iffy" about at this moment, but I don't want to say anything because I don't want to influence people's opinions in any way. Should I put this in, or do I need to throw some out?

I've never liked Liquid Swords that much, but then I'm not one of the board's bigger hip-hop fans.

liquid swords is one of my favorite hip-hop albums ever.

that redman album isn't so great imo.

I know nothing about Blondie or Mr. Bungle.

I'd get rid of the most popular of the rap albums, cuz I'd assume you could get a copy cheap on Amazon.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say I don't need to get rid of any of these but I'd rather save my money if any of them are shit. I've heard other albums by every artist on this list, but just never got around to picking up these particular ones.

Yeah, Liquid Swords is worth getting.

I just like to make a case for how lame I am.

just cause it's a hip-hop album doesn't mean it'll be cheap on amazon...I got meaty beaty big and bouncy for 2.85 and live at leeds for 4.85

parallel lines on amazon "84 used & new from $4.25"

reasonable doubt on amazon "86 used & new from $8.54"

just as a point of reference

although, you can get daily opperation for 3 bucks...I would but I've got it.

Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
Redman - Dare Iz a Darkside

My assumption was predicated on the fact that those are popular albums. More sold = more used copies out there. Like how you can get any Britney Spears CD for a penny now.

I'd definitely go Parallel Lines #1. I think it's a perfect album. If you already have a greatest hits, you still need it because the non-hits are some of the coolest tracks. And it's good to have it in the highest quality format because the production is outstanding. BMG's got the remaster with bonus tracks.

Then in the next group I think Sandinista! and Lust For Life are both worth getting.

Of The Roots, do you already have Phrenology and The Tipping Point? I'd get Phrenology first.

Of the Gang Starr they have, maybe consider the 2 CD comp?

I like Music For Airports more than most people probably. It doesn't say remaster but since it's on Astralwerks it has to be, right? Noticed it's the only Eno they got. Maybe they'll get Another Green World remaster before long.

I remember really liking Parallel Lines a year or so ago when I was listening to it, and I just previewed some clips just now and realized that it's really not my thing at all. I don't know what changed.

The Roots is the one that I was not sure about, because I can go either way about them (although I do really like Do You Want More?!?!), so I don't know whether I'm going to get that yet.

And I've got Gang Starr's Hard to Earn, so I figured the comp. has some repeats from that.

I think I may drop the Blondie for something by Missy Elliot and put the order in. Many of these are free selections (plus the shipping costs).

The Redman is pretty much set in stone for me. A lot of people have recommended against it (not only on this board) but the reviews make it sound like something I would love, and the clips I've heard from it sound great.

Ambient 1: Music for Airports is one of those albums that you only need to listen to once for historical reasons. The Pearl, Ambient 2, Ambient 4 and Apollo are much better.

Also, I put a star next to the ones I absolutely love.

Borg -

Assuming you've heard both, do you like Amerikkka's Most Wanted or Death Certificate better? I'm a big fan of Death Certificate but am somehow just getting around to purchasing AMW.

I just put in the final order...

I got everything on the original list except:

The Roots
Blondie
Missy Elliot (as mentioned elsewhere in this thread)

And also added Eazy E - Eazy-Duz-It

I also like Whut? Thee Album a lot, and the darker tone plus wilder humor on Dare Iz A Darkside sounds appealing to me (as well as the clips I've heard, which I already stated). Even if it sucks, I'm only out $2.69 or whatever BMG charges for shipping. I have a feeling I'll like it though.
