Are there huge taxes on your bills?

I have a $5.24 FCC charge for access Tel network on my current landline and have been thinking of switching to Vonage.

$25 gets you unlimited long distance and calls to canada and mexico. $15 gets you 500 minutes which is what I might go for, since I rarely use the land line.

My brother has used it for about a year and he has no complaints(and he likes to complain);

I've thought about it but I switched to a small carrier (Momentum) and so far, so good. If they piss me off, its Vonage here I come.

i'm using it and so far, so good. the international rates are excellent.

A friend of mine in Michigan has it and she says it's great. I desperately want to sign up for it, but this stupid province is the only place in Canada that doesn't have it. They have their own government sponsored company SaskTel, that evidently doesn't like competition. They're trying to not allow any VoiP here as well.

I fucking hate this place.

I had it. It was subpar. There were sound quality issues. Also if you were downloading there was a delay. Finally, sometimes it woudl get knocked off, and you might not figure it out for a couple days.

Oh, my service was throught vonage.

Is that pronounced VONE-age or like vonage-a-trois?

Doesn't quite apply, but I started using Skype a bit ago and hullo...

I've been using it for my overseas calls since July and I've only had reception problems once. It's pretty awesome.

but what about taxes and FCC charges, how much are they?
