Heh, I know it's a year away, but I just found out one of my conferences (Society for Neuroscience) is taking me to your fair city in 2006. It was scheduled for New Orleans, but after all the floods, they moved it to Georgia.

I hope you bastards will show me a good time.

2 weeks before the biggest election I've been involved in to date.

I am gonna have to say I won't be there, but you never know.

Is it bad that the first thing I did was to see who UGA plays during this time? (they have Vandy at home on the 14th)

Over the entire time period I'm there, I will likely have to dedicate about 3 hours to science. After that, it's all good, southern fun. Hopefully I can outdo Dublin as a drunken, practicing scientist.

But the question shall remain - will UGa lose to Vanderbilt?

So, we're booked up at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for October 12 through 19 (or thereabouts, FEMJACK took care of this for me), so the trip is officially a go. I think there's gonna be a party at Redlands that weekend.

Y'all better get ready for me.

I'm thinking about the trip down to Athens for the UGA/Vandy game. Derris, have you already reserved the River Rd. tailgate spot?

I've got a couple coming up in San Diego over the next two years, how far is that? There will be DumpJack in CA for sure.

You know I've got that on lock down all season. May not make it down for UAB though.

DJ, looking forward to getting kicked out of an establishment with you.

Nice digs by the way. The Marquis is pretty sweet. You're right in the middle of everything. Less than a mile from Midtown, Virginia Highlands, and Little 5 Points.

FYI, show going on during that time:

10/12 - Wolf Eyes - Drunken Unicorn (could be scary)

10/13 - Built to Spill, Camper Van Beethoven - Variety Playhouse (on a Friday)

There will be more I'm sure the closer the dates get.

It's on.

FYI: Built To Spill is playing the 40 Watt in Athens on 10/14 so if we go up for the game (likely a noon start since I'm assuming its Homecoming)...well lets just say that should be interesting.

I thought about this scenario also. My liver slapped me in the face.

Let's do it.

also, Tift Merritt is playing Athens Sunday night.

It'd be nice if Vandy could somehow put together a decent first half of the season and have the game at 3:30. But who am I kidding? They MIGHT have 2 wins.

My attendance is much more likely for this than a trip to Athens at that point of the year (3weeks from election day)

Yeah yeah...next two years...you just prefer the guys vs the girls. It's cool. I understand.

Okay, I'm all confirmed: I'll be in Atlanta on Friday, October 13th sometime in the afternoon. I'll be flying out on Thursday October 19th, early. Between those two time points, I've got lots of damage to inflict, I hope to see a lot of you.

I plan to arrive in Atl. on Friday, OCT. 13 and then to Athens, GA at Derris' tailgate around 11:00am on Saturday, OCT. 14 with a buzz still kicking from the night before.

I may need to crash on a couch if any of you are willing.
