So, this fucker works with me. He kinda works "for" me, but not really, as he will be getting his own campaign as soon as we get another one to ship him out to.

He came down here to hold the fort down while I finished the Mayor's race. The office was in a SHAMBLES when I got here, but I whipped it back into shape. But I guess I see why. Unless I specifically say: "Do This." NOTHING GETS DONE. And I mean NOTHING. It's weird, cos I like the dude as a person, so I would feel bad freaking out on him, but it may have to come.

Anyone have similar experiences?

Hey Pot, This is Kettle.

You wouldn't want him to post. He is also the type of dude who talks to damn much. Worse than you would imagine me doing. And its all about inane shit he and his friends did "Back in Dubois"

My homeboy calls him "Bandcamp"

I guess I could give hima a bunch of shit to do, but then I'd have to help or something.

My last job was at the local Council. The entire organisation does fuck all and I'm happy to say I fitted right in.

I am this guy. But I am in an more of an executive role, so nobody can say shit to me about it.

(actually, I'm a decent boss who tries to distribute the workload evenly...for the most part)

How do you get one of these campaign jobs exactly? Not necessarily the do-nothing aspect...I just figured most of this was pro bono/seasonal, therefore not really a desirable path of employment for, say, me.

I do lots of nothing at work, but only because I've figured out how to get everything finished real fast. As such, I'm left with lots of free time. Which sucks.

Well, me too. The problem is I spend most of my day on the phone, troubleshooting, wrangling other consultants/donors/finance committee meetings etc..so SOMEBODIES gotta keep the office straight/get thank yous out/look up numbers, and unless I give a specific project, nothing gets done. Initiative is HUGE in what we do.

Well, it can be...what I do is kinda season proof, though.

DUDE. I soooo feel you on this.... Why do you think I haven't been on the board the past week?! We just got a new assistant and she's already on vacation. I haven't had a day off in 2 weeks and can't even take a day off for working over the weekend because she's on vacation. On Friday I was helping to set up for an event and I asked her to keep an eye on a fax I was waiting for and gave her specific instructions on how to handle the account... when I got back in on Monday, did she listen to me? No. She fuckin screwed it up so now the client's pissed.

When I go to Vegas for work, I'm giving her a list of things that need to be done and if it's not done, she has no excuse because there will be no one in the office so it'll be a slow week.

And then today we had this huge report due to upper management, and my sales staff do not know how to use excel so basically I've been doing all their work for them.

My company is full of incompetent people who do nothing. RAWR!

I work with a few people whom I fit into this category.
One of my co-workers has his job because his dad is my primary boss. When we had an opening for a supervisor, the outgoing supervisor made sure this guy had no chance of getting the position. Normally my boss is a hard ass to most people, but he always caves when it comes to his kid. He should probably fire his own kid, but he knows his kid is completely worthless.
Another guy I share an office with has worked there for nearly 9yrs and worked his way up the ladder. He has no idea how to operate his computer and spends more time on the phone with his wife and kids than any man I have ever known.

my company is full of people who do nothing but take smoke breaks, walk around chatting with everyone, falling asleep at their desk, reading magazines, playing games online, etc. etc.

and it really pisses me off considering i work my ASS off all day long.
i say....get rid of the dead weight and pay ME what i DESERVE.

(yes, i do post on this board and another during the day....but i also don't take breaks.....post while i'm on the phone and already do the job of 2 people......)
