Im thinking about making a mix of great, but lesser known covers - not obvious stuff like Buckley's version of "Hallelujah", or the Clash's "I Fought The Law". Help me out here.

Stuff im thinking about

Revolting Cocks - Do You Think Im Sexy?
Spiritualized - Any Way That You Want Me
The Damned - Help
Al Green - I Wanna Hold Your Hand

One of the wrost covers ever, whioch means its one of the best, is Killdozer's "I'm Not Lisa." If you can find it.

Al;so Aztec Camera's wussy acosutic version of "Jump" is great
and Country Dick Montana's "Kharma Chameleon"

No, Placebos' "Bigmouth Strikes Again" is the most atrocious cover of all time, and i dont mind either The Smiths or Placebo

And there's a version with a nutty guitar wig-out at the end.

First thing I thought of.

I really like The Black Keys' cover of The Kinks "Act Nice and Gentle"

very good--Richard Barone's cello-d up version of "The Man Who Sold The WOrldx" and Pe ter Gordon's version of Laurie Anderson's "The Day The Devcil Comes To Gethca"

I don't own any of their shit, but this is a good fucking call. Any recs on where to start, Phil? I've heard a bunch of their more common songs, but no albums.

That's actually off a video game soundtrack that hosts a decent amount of decent bands. Stubbs the Zombie is the game. Game looks lame as hell, but
I stumbled upon it because of the lineup of artists.

pavement - "killing moon" (echo and the bunnymen)
smoking popes - "pure imagination" (you know, from willy wonka)

Pilates, I've got a bunch of cover songs. When I get home, I'll list 'em and see if you're interested in any.
