Nebraska got their asses handed to them by the Jayhawks of Kansas for the first time in 36yrs. It was the 2nd longest domination of one team behind Notre Dame's 41yrs of Domination over Navy.
The sad thing is that my Huskers will go to a bowl game if they beat lowly K-State, who has beat Nebraska severely over the last couple years. I hope are Unicameral steps in and fires the crappy AD who is responsible for this fiasco.
We should have went after Urban Meyer one year before Florida.

I bet you won't be talking so much shit on Navy when the German U-Boats show up on the shores of Nebraska.

Penn State beats 14th-ranked-Wisconsin 35-14, shutting out the Badgers for the first three quarters. The win gives the Nittany Lions sole possesion of the Big Ten lead. A win against Michigan State, which is never guaranteed, ensures a BCS bowl.

Tommy's Wolfpack are up by five against Florida State with 58 seconds left. They just gave up a safety, so this ain't over.

UCLA is losing to an unranked opponent again... and this is the USC's biggest risk to going undefeated?

It's over. NC State with two interception in the last ~60 seconds = CLUTCH!!!

Go 'Zona.

I'm late to the thread since I was out of town this past weekend, but how about our freshman RB Andre Brown in his first start ever, rushing for 179 yards against FSU? The second play of the game, where he broke off a 65-yd TD run was sick. Dude's got like 430 yards in the past two games. I've got more hope that we can salvage a decent season after all.

Yeah fudge, nice win. Am I correct in saying that NC State are the only ACC team to beat FSU on their home field? Twice?

Other thoughts:

Miami looked like they could've beat either USC or Texas on Saturday.

Alabama's defense is damn good but their offense is so anemic right now I don't see them beating either LSU or Auburn. They'll be exposed as pretenders.

I'll echo Damen's sentiments: JESUS CHRIST UCLA!! Dat beat down.

Buster award of the weekend: The official who threw the flag for excessive celebration on the kid from Vandy after he scored the tying TD and, in effect, negating a 2-point conversion attempt that could've won them the game. Further proof that there is no God in Gainesville.

Looking ahead:

Auburn will know before they kickoff against UGA if they are still alive in the SEC West. If Bama beats LSU then Auburn would be able to win out and win the West making Auburn/UGA the game for all the marbles in both divisions which is as it should be for the oldest rivalry in the South.

It would be some strange reversal of fortune if Spurrier, our old nemesis, can beat Florida and actually win the East for UGA. This league is insane.

Urban is not exactly lighting the world on fire at Florida, but his offense would be a better a fit at Nebraska than Fl. I think it's gonna take a while for Callahan to get the kind of players for he needs for his system.

Nebraska has something like 37 rushing yards IN ITS LAST THREE GAMES COMBINED. Jesus Christ.

fightingliberal will never buy what I'm selling, but Nebraska would have been better off with Huston Nutt then either Callahan or Meyer.

Yea, the only ACC team to beat FSU in Tally, and twice to boot (obviously Miami has won there before, but not since joining the ACC).

I tell you what, TCB...I honest-to-God fear Navy this week as an ND fan. The law of averages will catch up to them sooner or later, and Navy's actually good this year. Please don't boot us from the BCS, Middies!!!

I could probably outrun half of Navy's DBs. And they are all 5-6, so if you can't outrun them, you can just throw up a jumpball.

But that's one thing Paul Johnson has done well. Navy needs to play the Rutgerses, Tulanes and Delawares rather than the NC States (77-7, oof!), Georgia Techs & Boston Colleges.

I definitely won't buy Nutt after what Arkansas is doing this year. The Razorbacks will be saying good bye to him and saying hello to Butch Davis.

Urban Meyer's system was not ready for the speed of the SEC Defense, but it definitely would have done better this year and last than Callahan's WCO. IMO, Nebraska would have been better off hiring a Defensive guru as a head coach and tweaking the old system just enough to make it a ballanced attack that was run heavy.

It is time for the bowl projections:
CFN:
Tulsa vs. Nebraska in Fort Worth Bowl
OU vs. Michigan in Alamo
Northwestern vs. NC State in Music City
Minnesota vs. UCLA in Sun
Iowa State vs. Tennessee in Independence
Florida State vs. Florida in Peach
Penn State vs Georgia in Capital One
LSU vs. West Virginia in Sugar
Miami vs. Alabama in Orange

CBS Sportsline
Miami vs. Penn State in Orange
West Virginia vs. Alabama in Sugar
LSU vs. Notre Dame in Fiesta
Georgia vs. Ohio State in Capital One
Wisconsin vs. Florida in Outback
Florida State vs. Tennessee in Peach
Clemson vs. Northwestern in Music City

West Virginia in the Sugar Bowl would be a fucking joke.

Sad for college football that they can take a brilliant season and come up with some of the shittiest matchups.

No offense to Mountaineer fans but the Big East ain't what she used to be.

South Florida might win the Big East LOL.

Exactly. Way to reward a team that wins arguably the toughest conference in the nation this year.

Can you imagine a playoff right now with the top 8:

First round matchups:

USC/Ohio State
Texas/LSU
Bama/Va Tech
Miami/Penn State

NCAA frustrates me to no end.

You would be threatening violence for UGA not being in the top 8, admit it (even though I think all those teams deserve to be ahead of us with the exception of Ohio State---how are they ahead of us?)

I'm sure it is because I am now bound by the laws of fuh to follow/go for Bama whence they aren't playing UGA, but their offense doesn't matter, cos the D is INSANE. They've reverted to Stallings territory, and as I heard on the radio "Shula's the smartest coach in history: he didn't give LSU ANYTHING TO SCOUT ;)"

Next weekend = The world is going off its axis we bringin it so hard. Call Jeezy and them real street niggas cos LooGAR and Bloor are coming to burn Athens to the ground, and crash Auburn's team bus into the front door of the Georgia Theatre.

I have Uncle Brian on speed dial, and I'm trying to get Nature Boy G. Tanner to come with me

Oh it would be pipe bomb time if they weren't there. But in this system it's always better to lose early than late.

If they went to playoff they would have to get rid of automatic tie ins. If Georgia got shut out at #9 but South Florida got in because the Big East had a tie in I might pull a Jack Ruby.

This is all premature anyway. There are some HUGE games left to be played.

I already have the shakes. Jesus. Call Scotty D and make sure we can still get those "exclusive" lodging rights.

I'll call Nicky6 and have him laying in wait on our support staff, hopefully Uncle Brian, Attorney at Law, will be in Athens so he doesnt have to make the drive to get us loose.

Agreed with Derris about the need for a playoff system. If we cut conference automatic byes, though, conference championships become pretty meaningless. I'm personally OK with that, but we might as well expand the field to 12 or 16 and get rid of the conference championship games. It will at least be a compromise for the 'too many games' naysayers.

OR we could take the conference champions (yes, all of them), take the top 5 at-larges to fill out the field, and seed them according to BCS ranking. It's like March Madness but smaller.

Yail: OSU is ahead of Georgia because of the computer average, which favor current rankings vs. rankings at game time. Tennessee imploded after you beat them, and Boise State's schedule can't keep them up. Yes, Ohio State has two losses, but both losses are to teams in the BCS top 5 with one loss between them. UGA hasn't beaten anyone in the current top 25 and lost to a two-loss team (yes, they were 'Bama and LSU but still.) As Derris said, though, plenty of time left. You have two ranked opponents before the SEC championship game. Ohio State does also, but the Michgan game is never a sure thing.

Oh, I understand why...I just don't have to like it.

The Big 10(11) and Pac 10 both need to expand to 12 and have conference championship games.
