As opposed to " hey look, its House at the World Series!, watch Fox" or "Hey homies we gots some dope shit for you....its DIDDY!!!!, the NBA, its FAAAAANTASTIC!!!!!" or "HEY WE'RE ON OLN--PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE WATCH EVEN JUST THE FACEOFF"

no surprise that Nascar is now the #2 most watched sport............

Tim Mcgraw followed by Jimmy Kimmel. i haven't watched a baseball game since Chris Sabo was pissing on the syringe of jose canseco and big mac and dave stewart's illegitimate babies so i don't really know what you're talking about. i mean, it was horrible and all seeing Penny from Good Times' lil' booby but come on, no one deserves tim mcgraw.

In-game entertainment is always a shovel of shit.

The same for the pre-game recitation of the National Anthem... Of which, unless you can either get a pre-cracked Whitney or have a durable, high-quality version of her N.A. from the '91 Super Bowl, you shouldn't even have it. There's a reason there's no recorded version of "The Star-spangled Banner" as sung by Elvis - it's a bitch to sing for pretty much any singer that would be willing to appear at a Pirates-Nationals game.... How 'bout we just go with "America, the Beautiful" then (also a la King)?

I was about to agree with you then I remembered U2's performance of "Where The Streets Have No Name" post 9/11 at the Super Bowl XXXVI with all of the names that came scrolling down the screen.

Genuinely moving.

Kind of off topic, but along the same lines of in game entertainment during MNF, did anyone else get a chuckle out of the Snickers Hungriest Fan? I sincerely felt bad for that woman.

They used "I Don't Want What You Got Goin' On" during one of the MNF segments last year.

I'd rather watch Tim McGraw's weekly highlights on MNF than watch Stewart Scott. Just sayin'.

Plus he's dreamy.

Oh, and Jimmy K...I hope you die of cancer...soon.

One more thing. WHEN ARE THEY GONNA STOP USING THAT GODDAMN HANK JR. SONG?!!!

ENOUGH! Yeah I'm ready for some football. But I'm NOT ready to look at your black spray-painted beard 18 weeks out of the year singing a song that you didn't write that you can't even sing anymore.

Okay, I feel better.

I KNOW YOU ARE UPSET RIGHT NOW SO I WILL PRETEND YOU DIDN'T SAY THAT.

Did you really just insult Hank, Jr?

Who the fuck are you, and what have they turned you into up there, pussy-boy?

Several things in this thread:
1) McGraw is terrible, but he is Tug's son and was pretty good in Friday Night Lights, plus the NFL knows that Mr. Big Business, who owns the rights to 99% of the luxury boxes and 87.5% of the tickets sold to games, doesn't wanna hear Young Jeezy feat. Manny Fresh "I selll crack to children and my pants sag real low (gats and hoes remix)" Now, I WOULD like to hear that, but Tagliabue knows that in flyover country that shit don't play, but Stern may have gotten the memo too late.

2) If you think Jimmy Buffett is gay, you have seen one up close and are reliving the shame that it was in a bathroom in the Florida Keys. That dude MELTS panties.

3) Kimmel dieing of cancer should take place over a long and painful process, not soon.

That is all.

the SNL skit with Farley as Hank Jr during the recording process of the MNF theme song was one of the best skits ever.

I agree.

Incidentally, the "Are you ready for some football" song still raises the hairs on the back of my neck but I think its more a cringing in horror situation at this point.

But the real truth is that Bocephus gets a lifetime pass because he used to have a faucet in his house that spewed straight Jack Daniels.

Question, though -

how do you rank the three Hanks (Sr., Jr., III)?
