i'm going to start the weekend thread a little early.

thankfully this week has FLOWN by. i am taking my very last vacation day tomorrow because my bestest friend ever is driving up to see me today from cincinnati!

i just had the 2 most stressful/busy weeks of my life at work .... and this is the only thing that's gotten me through. i soooo deserve a great weekend.

not sure what we're planning on doing (other than going to see 'jarhead') but i'm sure it will involve lots of laughter, beer, hugs and music.

how about YOU?

More "studying".

Will probably go to a BBQ on the beach with friends and family on Friday.

It's not worth being a public school teacher just to get veteran's day off.

Wk ends today...

Jimmy Eat World and the Smoking Popes on Friday. A special show with Josh Caterer at the Top Note Theatre at Metro on Sunday. I think a stop at Reckless is a possibility too!

OK, I have to ask.

Which is it LA
NYC
or Austin?

Edit: sorry, off topic!

I teach in Chicago... but if you mean, where am i going? I don't know. I'll apply for jobs in all three and see what shakes out. But I'm leaning towards L.A. because there's nothing comfortable and familiar there for me to become complacent with, and besides, it's the center of the musical universe.

So far this is the only bonus of living in Saskatchewan, as Remembrance Day is a stat in this province while in Ontario it was not. So today's a Friday for me as well.

Tonight I gotta help my wife get ready for a week long conference in DC. She flies out here at 7am Friday morning until next Thursday. So the long weekend and most of next week is bachelor time for yours truly. I just don't know what to do with myself. Alcohol will likely be involved.

After the li'l bro's game on Friday, I'm heading out to the bars and getting fucked up like a retard in a spelling bee.

The rest of the weekend will probably entail scraping dried vomit off the walls and trying to regain sensation in my extremities.

Friday - Buddy of mine is producing a play that's on this weekend. Planning to go but have yet to pull the trigger on booking it.
Saturday - iPod video dorkfest, and maybe some reading.
Sunday - Perhaps a morning ramble, but lots o' chillin'.

If I didn't love you so much, I would hate you.

Tomorrow I'll probably skate out early and have FEMGAR take me to dinner.
Saturday: Wake up EARLY, cruise to Redlands, consolidate massive coolers/PA system/los drogas/funny red and black attire and cruie with Bloor to Athens with the windows down and the music LOUD. Meet up with Derris and begin the whooping. Hit 3-4 tailgates and see all my best friends. Maybe go the game, maybe just sit in a bar and watch it. Black out sometime around. Come back around after leaving the bathroom around 1:15...Wake up on someone's couch.

Sunday: Limp back to Redlands, grab some more of my shit and then limp back to MGM to be nursed back to health by a dissaproving, but amused FEMGar

My boss had three people quit this week. Which means I work more to train newbs. In radio, you spend the whole day honoring vets, but don't get the day off to bbq a shitload of dead things to honor them properly.

My wife is a career counselor. There's a co-worker who's worked for the state for 40 years and instead of taking vacations he accumulates his comp time and takes nearly every Friday off. Sometimes Mondays, too. He's a psychopath, but gets long weekends.

Tonight - Take my wife out to dinner for our first anniversary. Some place nice and undecided.

Tommorrow- Drive to New Orleans and meet up with some friends and waste a perfectly good afternoon. Then drive to Baton Rouge and meet up with my wife's high school friends (I guess they're my friends now) for dinner at a Sushi place. Probably go to a bar and drink heavily.

Saturday - Drive back to Houma and watch the LSU vs. BAMA. As soon as I get home, I'll crack a beer and will definitely be drunk before the 2:30 kickoff. The rest of my day will be decided by the game. If we win, I'll probably burn Houma to the ground. If we lose, I'll probably just burn my own house down.

Sunday - Wake up and ask the same question, "Why do I always do this to myself?"

Tonight: Make dinner with husband, watch O.C. and chill out together

Tomorrow: Work, pick up son from school, order in dinner. Josh is in Milwaukee tomorrow for a show

Sat: See Chicken Little with son, take son to lunch and to browse down michigan ave shops, clean a little, have dinner with guys, watch a movie

Sun: Don't know. Just hang with my guys

Mon: Relax. Clean out some old files with bills.

We had our head nail tech quit this week rather suddenly, and she took another one of em with her to a new Spa that just opened in the Gold Coast. She left us high and dry and it's made everyone REALLY pissy here.

Plus I'm still fighting off this cold and need it to go away.

It hasn't flown by here. This has been one of the slowest weeks in recent memory. My plans this weekend include dinner with friends on Friday and a trip to an Indiana winery on Saturday. As you can imagine, the wine from this winery is not that good but it should be fun anyway. Sunday I will watch the Packers lose to Atlanta.
