Okay, so I like to brag.
But I was at:

•The Replacements show in 1991 at Grant Park where they broke up on-stage.
•Wilco's first-ever show. (1994 at the Lounge Ax.)
•Tom Zé's first-ever show in the US (1997 at the Park West in Chicago)

I was also at a couple of other noteworthy shows, but nothing that was a "first", "last", or otherwise landmark show. Still... I feel lucky to have been there. Right place. Right time.

Saw the Dropkick Murphy's last (?) show with their original lead singer.

Was at Ben Folds Five's 2000 Summerfest appearance (which also would have been in the neighbourhood of "last... show... ever").

Radiohead at Irving Plaza a month before OK COmputer came out, and the 'buzz' on the record was maddening. I was in the VIP area inches from Madonna, Michaerl Stipe, and Co. during the set.

Pearl Jam at Limelight just as 'Alive' was breaking at radio.....I think i told the sotry of how I got into this on the old CMJ board. Best story ever.

im sure there a few more....

I was at the Tibetan Freedom Festival in D.C. at RFK. A bolt of lightining struck inside the satdium about 50 yards to my right in the middle of Herbie Hancocks set taking out a few fans. The next day we were treated to the first Red Hot Chilli Peppers show since the return of John Frusciante.

I was at the Phish Halloween show where they played the Talking Heads Remain In Light.

Janes Addictions last show before their most recent breakup here in ATL at The Fox.

The Arcade Fire's EP release show at which the first incarnation of the band dissolved on-stage.

Phish's farewell (pt. 1) throwdown near San Francisco.
Phish's farewell (pt. 2) disaster in Vermont.
Phish's marathon New Year's party in Florida.
Some other notable performances of theirs.

Other than that, nothing comes to mind.

Ooh! One of the few tapes I'd be fully willing to pull out on occasion. I'm jealous.

I was at the Rush show in AZ where the "board tape" bonus track of "Between Sun and Moon" was recorded for Rush in Rio.

i saw Nirvana at Roseland right before In Untero came out.
Kurt was rumored to have gone into a coma before the show.

i'm pretty sure it was the debut of almost all the songs. They did an acoustic in the middle including a version of "in the pines"

Got would clearly prefer China to maintain its claim to Tibet, then, huh?

He doesn't like Dave Navarro too much either.

Okay, since others are bending the rules:
I saw Uncle Tupelo in 1989 -- 3 months before No Depression came out -- opening for fIREHOSE on Halloween night at the Blue Note in Columbia, MO.

As was I. I think was aiming at me, and missed.

Also, I was at Bauhaus' Gotham performance.

And Crack The Sky's Live | Recher Theatre, 06.19.99 performance.

And a track here and there. I think one of the tracks on Ted Nugent's Double Live Gonzo album, but not sure.
