What was the reasoning with filming it in Oregon, other than the bargain basement prices, I'm assuming.

they have filmed a lot of movies in Astoria - Goonies, Short Circuit, Kindergarten Cop, Ring 2. There used to be a lot more films shot here but it has really dropped off due to Vancouver, BC taking most of that.

I'd like to sit and watch this again. I don't think I've seen it since I was a kid. I think I know Cyndi's theme song more than the movie.

from IMDB:

Quote:
Guttenberg has been the above-the-title star of six films that earned over $100,000,000 in the United States

Just never got around to seeing it and didn't really have an interest in it.

There's a shit ton of movies that you'd think I'd have seen but haven't.

Forrest Gump
Any of the Harry Potter movies
Schindler's List

By definition, no American born in the 80s or later can have a good childhood without the Goonies and A Christmas Story. I'm totally serious.

Kinda the same way I feel about "Kung Fu" esp with the lame-ass pidgin-speak! mastuh Po! glasshoppah, when you can snatch the pebber flom my hand... and all that–CLASSIC!

Or Yul brenner playing the King of Siam, although I do like that movie.
