I'm not talking thrasher or R&B, but anyone know of some good non-tradtioinal even ambient pretty but feels like x-mas/winter season tunes. Not dancing but background entrancing type stuff, or slow rocking, yeah I hit the eggnogg already. Suggestions please.

For example:
Winter Wooskie(B&S) = acceptable
Death by Snow Ball(Die Now) = not

Just Like Christmas(Low) = yes
Icicle Piecicle(discoplo) = no

Slept through Christmas(Aarktica?)= yes
Pull this jingle and hum a little(Santa 1 2) = no

am I way off in description here?

Pretenders - 2000 Miles
Pogues - A Fairytale Of New York

And XTC had one too. Can't remember the name, though.

Sufjan Stevens has a 3 volume Christmas comp that I just got yesterday. I could hook you up with the link.

Same thing with the Low Christmas album. That Sufjan is qual. Even includes some old hymns. That's my thing, though.

This applies to the Festivus spirit as well? I thought we got an exemption for obvious holiday tinkering.

the Flaming Lips music is self-proclaimedly "Christmas music from outer space". Not that that helps. And yes, i do know that 'proclaimedly' is not actually a word.
