last minute recommendation here folks. "Good People" came out earlier this year on Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records. I'd call it "classic" indie pop. i like it quite a bit. those of you who down with Darla, Harriet, March, and Kindercore in their hey day should check 'em out.

RIY were eagerly awaiting the High Water Marks or Ulysses albums and were semi-disappointed with both. this stuff is better.

it's funny how even the street teamers used to get SOME response, even if it was a "get lost crapstick".

is there no love for indie pop anymore?

I'za luv the indee pop. Haven't heard 63 Crayons. Was somewhat "meh" about The High Water Marks, though I bet I'd like the band members.

I agree with this, and we are starting to lose our identity a little bit. We have always had NMR threads but lately it seems that is what people would rather talk about. Most music threads are not being responded to like they use to. I hope that it is just a phase and we will get back to our roots again.

Well, to be fair this is a band that probably no one else has heard, so other that "sounds cool, man," what are you gonna say? Also, it's December, the slowest release month of the year (as evidenced by the existence of the "Anticipated albums of 2005" thread, there's just not much new stuff so we're talking about stuff that doesn't even exist yet).

I don't define myself in terms of identity.

I totally agree, just a bit frustrated I guess. November, December and January are the worst months and I have said that in the past.

Personally, I hate winter. So the six months of it in Maine are the worst.
Tell you what, I'll start an honest to jeebuz music thread tomorrow.
