Rumsfeld is not a neocon, though. Or even an ideologue. He has taken on the task of Iraqi liberation, etc., only because he has to in order to remain as secdef.

His principal - only, maybe - interest is military re-formulation, i.e. streamlining the human force and updating the technology.

ill believe it when i see it. its pathetic that someone like rumsfeld, who should have had his ass kicked right out of office a long time ago, gets to leave on his own terms.

I've heard this for a little while now, but I'm not really buying into it.

Then again, he's done quite well for himself after playing the father on "Alf".
