I figured something out this evening. I took a bunch of big zip-lock bags (about 10"x10" w/ the big zipper on 'em- but you can use other sizes as well), and just wrapped the presents that would fit in tissue paper and stuffed 'em inside the bags. The recipients still get to open a present, and the tissue is undamaged to use next year, and they can reuse the ziplock bag as well.

Man, it makes things so much quicker. Plus, there's a spot on the bag where you can write your greeting. You can still wrap your gift in regular wrapping paper and be able to see it thru the bag, and you don't have to tape it up. Again, recycling the paper for another year.

Man, I suck at wrapping. This is a godsend to me.

Another gifty idea I have is to take calendars that the local auto repair shop gives out and rip the dog pic off it and glue a pic of me in its place.

yeah i really like wrapping presents. the wife sent me to the craft store for ribbon the other day, and although i got in a fight with the cashier lady and bought all the wrong colors, i think that the ensuing presents turned out reasonably well.

I don't mind wrapping, but unwrapping is much more fun.

OK that sounds like a great idea! Send me some of your pics. I'll start glueing right away! Do I just glue your head over the dogs head or what Mr. Crafty? And did you steal this idea from Martha?

That was funny.

Oh and also some good news. He didn't come in, but the other creepy man pushing 60 came in who works a few doors down, and he hits on all of the girls who work at the store.. and last night he happened to come through my line and he goes "Yeah everytime I talk to someone I get the feeling they're mad at me.. But you know, alcohol cures the soul. Who was it that said that, Ben Franklin I think? Yeah, Ben Franklin, beer will cure you. Life is a big rollercoaster, i'm like living a dream, maybe one day i'll make it really big. Life's a great rollercoaster and i'm just living it for the ride."

I just gave him a half assed laugh and tried to smile and walked away quickly.
God I hate it when he comes in the store. EVERYBODY runs but someone has to ring that bastard up, and sure enough it has to be me.

There is nothing more exciting than waking up Christmas morning to all your ziplock'd presents. The sound of Christmas to me is the 'smuck' of a ziplock bag opening.

My brother in law makes a really big deal out of presents - he actually will sit and admire the paper before opening his presents. "Oh, this is really nice paper . . . " He's almost so bad that I wouldn't be surprised to hear him say something about wanting to save it because it's so nice. Dude, just open 'em already - rip, tear, shred, whatever, but get on with it.
