I like this site. Obner, TMT, Meta Critic, prefixmag, Other Music and PFM are my music stops.
I feel like I should check by Dusted a little more often seeing their year-end list.

I HIGHLY recommed the Other Music weekly update. I've found some hidden gems that way.

You should really check out Stylus, as it is better than any of those...

wrong.

Other Music alone has more interesting bits than Stylus.

I like reading this site and I like that it exists to showcase things I'd never know about otherwise. Still, there have been times they've reviewed some itty-bitty obscure regional release, talked it up in glowing and magnicifent terms, then I check out said release and all I hear is yet another decent low-fi mumbler, freak folker, tremulous warbler or jittery angular personage. Whatever rapture the reviewer gains from the decent but non-descript low-budget home recording type release, I don't always get. Not that there's anything the matter with a lot of nil-budget recordings, they just don't sound that different from one another sometimes.

But then there's the one in a thousand times you find an artist that makes your head spin and you're glad you rummaged though all the tiny "okays."

I was going to DL it from redlightglow.com but apparently they've been had and are now closed indefinitely in accordance with the Digital Copyright Act of 1998.
:(
