The previews look scary, the not for the faint-of-heart audience. I'm not huge on horror (I'm a fraidy cat), but this one is supposedly scarier than Cabin Fever. Has anyone been privy to pre-screenings?

I saw a pre-screening about a month or so ago and Eli Roth and the lead actress did a Q&A afterwards. I don't think it was really that scary as I don't get scared much by movies anymore but it's REALLY gory and there's some scenes that'll probably make you look away. Eli was saying that they had another pre-screening in Toronto and they actually had to call an ambulance because one of the theatregoers fainted or was having chest pains or something.

I should add that I thought the movie was awesome.

The movie definitely looks like a hardcore horror/suspense film. In truth, I do like those sorta movies...it's just that, I can't watch 'em alone. I'm thinking that I'll need to wait until it's out on video so that I can stop and watch whenever I want. Ya know, to get through the scarier scenes.

Yeah if you were scared by something like say, Saw, I'd avoid this movie.

There's a clip here but they don't show the best part.

I like horror flicks, but I don't usually go to see them at the theater. This one I might, though. It looks pretty freakin' cool.

Any truth to the rumor that this borders on soft-core porn? Not the gore parts, of course.

There was an article in the LA Times about it today or yesterday. He said he used 150 gallons of fake blood in making it, which was apparently 3X what was required for Cabin Fever. Apparently 2 people left a screening in Toronto, one complaining of heart problems and another of nauseia. While trying not to sound callous, he said he took this as a compliment.

I'm not sure I want to see it. I used to dig this kinda stuff when I was younger but don't really see the point in it anymore.

There's a lot of T&A in the first 20 minutes or so. Nothing more than you'd see in American Pie or something like that though.

This is probably a great movie for the genre but I haven't had interest in hardcore gore movies in a long time. Looks high quality though.

It's one of those movies that I want to see but am wondering if it will be the one that makes me realize I am too squeamish.

no. It was horrible. To me, if you liked SAW, you probably like The Ring and all the other crap horror that the studios threw down our throats as of late.

Tarentino was on Conan hyping this last night. I think so, anyway. I was too ramped up on coke and talking about Iceland to make any sense.
