that orange sorbet is pretty sweet (you know...the one that comes in a frozen orange peel), and their green tea mochi is awesome, if only slightly confusing to eat.

It is the one with the crust! I was actually impressed with their cheesecake too. I haven't tried the sorbet or the mochi ice cream.

I agree they have the worst produce and not a great cheese selection.

The appeal of Trader Joe's is that they don't sell bad food.

I always want to go to the one near me but I never do.

It's not that they have the worst produce, especially around here, but they just don't have that much due to space limitations.

our TJ is fucking MONSTROUS. It is in the old armory of my town.

i've been to 2 trader joes and they're both ALWAYS a big ol traffic nightmare.

Both the ones in Las Vegas are like that as well- PAINFUL to try to roll a cart around in, but I always like what I take home once the ordeal is a done deal.

It's funny, all the people raving about Trader Joe's stuff. I've had some stuff there that's good, and a lot of stuff that is pure crap.

The SF Chronicle has food reviews every week; lots of times, TJ stuff will be reviewed, and 7 out of 10 times (I'm guessing) it'll be down near the bottom. It's fun to check in and see where it's been rated.

You gotta know what to get, and what to stay away from. I guess that's obvious, but to me, it's overrated. They seem to cater to the upscale folks who buy it just because it's hip.

No Trader Joe's here... I'm just not hip and usually stick to Kroger. Whee!

Hip or not, Trader Joe's in Annapolis beats all other mainstream grocery stores on price almost every single time.

I suspect that any food reviewer in SF would trash anything that didn't have at least a hint of mint.

I don't know about the desserts, but their Apple Cider is like crack.

And their frozen Indian food is good too.
