what's the longest you've ever gone without a shower?

edit: oh, and why did you go that long?

Two weeks backpacking in New Mexico; water was way scarce. Other than backpacking, I may occasionally go a day without a shower out of being too lazy or too busy.

Yeah, I think it was only maybe 3 days while camping.

I'm a clean freak.

5 days, this past June while in the UK. After a conference in Dublin I went to go visit a friend in Cambridge who was in the process of moving to a new place. His shower was fucking disgusting, so I figured that after helping him move I'd just take one in his new place. I got that one shower, which then promptly stopped functioning. If I didn't get that one shower in, it would have been a full week without one. I felt fucking horrible, by the way, and probably looked and smelled worse after a week of drinking and not cleaning.

Not that I was counting or anything, but I think I made it to 7 days one time out of sheer laziness. I was unemployed and living with my parents at the time, and I don't think I left the house the whole week so I was like "Why bother?"

Maybe 3 days, and again for camping. Maybe. But lately, I average probably 5 a week. I'm small, I don't sweat much, I'm not an oily manly-manly dude. I still look presentable a day later.

I used to NEVER shower on weekends. Friday morning --> Sunday night.

And there is NO BETTER feeling that taking a shower half drunk on sunday night, and climbing into newly washed sheets.

I think my longest is 4 days, again, camping.

Well, since this poor kid only had a bathtub until he was about 16, I'd say there were long stretches of time I didn't have a shower.

Since then, probably 2 days on a weekend, camping trip or vacation.

Three days, in Romania, early '03. Slept past the alarm and had to rush just to be at class on-time.

Only mildly related, there is something to be said for a cold shower... during which you have to hold the nozzle (as it's not anchored to the wall, a la American shower-heads)... and just barely getting enough of a spray to dampen your hair for shampooing. It actually is something nice, working for your cleanliness. I dug. (I guess that could be "I duh".)
