I have heard this track 100's of times, and it still elicits an involuntary, audible guffaw... every damn time!

This is his band: The Bonzo Dog Band.

Just listen.
You will thank me.

I have to say, that was pretty good. It's that pause right before the music begins that got me - it's a perfect moment that many people would have rushed and ruined the humor.

Heard of them, but never actually heard these guys before, thanks! So these guys are where Death Cab for Cutie got their name? Listening to more clips on AllMusic, you'd never guess that Gibbard would be a fan.

Yeah, the song "Death Cab For Cutie" is on the same record as this track.
And, if you've seen the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour movie, it's the Bonzos on stage, with Viv as the Elvis impersonator singing "Death Cab..." at with the Beatles in the front row.

Gorilla is the name of the record this is from and it's brilliant... for any fans of Monty Python, The Rutles, The Decemberists.
