We have such a crappy music scene in Northampton.

Tonight was one of the rare occasions when a really good band decided to come to town. Band called Ludes. This is the third time a band has bailed on us in the last 3 months. Nearly 150 people turned up (this is a big crowd) and so it gets to 10pm and were told they are a no-show.

We have to argue for 30 minutes to get a damn refund.

Anybody have the same problems in the town they live in?

Man we paid 2 quid fifty for a can of beer that you can get in the shop for 80 pence.

I've had pretty good luck with bands showing up, to be honest. But I can lie, if it'll make you feel better.

I live in the most unrockin place on earth. Bands used to occasionally go to New Orleans but that's stopped for obvious reasons. About a month ago Okkervil River was gonna play in Baton Rouge. I drove to B.R. specifically for the show. Called in sick the day of. To top it off I was forced to hang out with the in-llaws for the rest of night because of this.

Start saying out loud "man, it really sucks that (good band) is coming here. Fuck I HATE them." They'll lower prices and play three shows.

Thats sucks. I mean its the UK, it's a tiny island.

Baton Rouge, that brings back memories. Been through a couple of times on the greyhound. Last time i had a stop-over for an hour. I went out for a smoke and some guy invited me over to his house, gave me a couple of beers and a joint. Top guy. Always remember that.

Damn hanging out with the in-laws. Tough break.

fortunately, living in southern california, that's not a problem at all. i actually have a problem choosing what show to go to since so many are in one night.

i couldn't imagine living in an area where there's no live music. the idea is foreign to me.

Yeah i really enjoy checking out some of the local gig listings for LA, New York etc. Seattle blows my mind sometimes.

I gotta get my arse to London.

We are pretty spoiled here. I don't take advantage like I should.

i don't think i've ever been to a show where the band failed to show up. i almost went to a kool keith show that he ended up not showing up to and a whitehouse show that they apparently played like one song and left or something.

i was asked if i wanted to go to the wu-tang show tonight but i was being kind of lazy and i also thought only u-god would show.

Yeah, I miss living in Atlanta... everybody and their brother came there. Seattle isn't too far of a drive, and most acts will make a courtesy stop in Portland or Eugene, but not all.

Isn't MerleFest held around there?
