I just came from a local End The War rally. I had more beer than I wanted, because they take cards, but they have minimums. So here's a peek inside the modern "Dems ain't left enougn for me" rally:

- Impromtu speakers. Bad ones. From the heart, which is admirable, but reeeeeally unpolished. Moments where it goes "...and ... um... I say it's time for revolution" etc.

- The WORST spoken poetry I have every been subjected to. Sneering, cynical, sarcastic tone for like 30 minutes straight. "How Now, Red Cow, So Now, But Now, Then Now, Bow Wow" etc. Fucking garbage. Bad rhymes, bad poetry, no fucking point whatsoever. People who begin the evening agreeing with the general intended message will change their minds after this garbage. Awful and painful.

- Friends of mine (a band) got up and palyed afterwards... hence me being there in the first place. A welcome relief. Less bitch, more rock.

- I am now listening to Faith No More's "Album Of The Year" in headphones at So Loud to combat the effects. I will get through this. For the score-keepers, I agreed with 75% of what was said, but the other 25% was tripe. All heart, no plan. Get it together, formulate a way to make it happen, and get back to me. Meanwhile...

Now, they would have just recruited him to wash the numbers they get selling pot. Cap'n could be their Tom Hagen.

I will steal this as my album title for my yet to never be made solo project.

Edit: I'm an idiot who can't type.

yesterday, i went to the capitol for the first time
to talk with legislators about health care issues.
i was well-versed on my talking points
and even got some of the 'pubs to agree with me on some of my points regarding
equality of access to health care.
but party lines are tight. and rhetoric is a conversation end-all.
one thing's apparent after my experience,
anti-anything rallies, such as this one you attended tonight,
unorganized and drawling
are purely masturbation.

what band is your buddy in?

ps.
those

at

when you
left.

you're probably right.
but they thought they were gonna talk circles around us.
when they realized we knew what we were talking about,
they got angry and tried to divert the conversation.
so that was fun.

why
must i put
up with these masturbatory
line breaks?

there is little worse
these days
than opening up
a thread
and putting up
with some little
shit
who thinks
he is
the second coming of
e.e. cummings.

for
christ's sake
please stop.

yes.
i'm going to stop doing something because you suggest it.
if this really bugs you to the point of repeatedly posting about it,
maybe it's time to get your priorities in check.
getting your approval doesn't rank too high up on my list;
therefore i shall continue.
hopefully that getting laid thing will help you out.

smooches.

How come they don't have another definition for "hippy"? When a woman has big hips, she's called "hippy," right?

:?:

The Kissers.

It was sortof a wank-fest, but I felt it for them. There's really a kernel of truth lurking amongst all that misdirected angst, and for that I can sympathize. They're pissed, and don't know any better way to express it. Meh.

I was, however, vastly overdressed, having come straight from a school function.

What do they taste like,
Some kind a' treat?
How many hippies can this monster eat?
It ate Stills and Nash before they could shout
And then it chewed on David Crosby
But it spit him out
