That girl on the right is probably too young for me to say 'whoa, hot.'

So I won't.

there are only four movies that scare the hell out of me:

a tale of two sisters
ju-on
saw (i'm not proud of this one)
e.t. (i'm a wuss and that little creature scares me)

it's a great movie. just scary.

chances are, though, i'll still watch by myself (because i tend to think i'm invincible  ) ....and will be kicking myself after it's over. (or hiding under my mattress.)

i'll be sure to report in.

i haven't seen it. no.
but i will likely give it a chance if i really like 'a tale of two sisters'.

i did see the grudge and HATED it.
but, well, i guess that's not surprising.

i did rent 'ringu' once. and started watching it....
but, shut it off before i let it really get started and returned it because it was 2am and i kept hearing things outside and freaked myself out.

but it's back in my netflix queue.

ju-on is so much better than the grudge. the grudge resorts to too many 'gotcha' moments while ju-on just streches this feeling of dread over the entire movie....

I have a question, and in asking the question, there may be a SPOILER, so I would warn anyone reading this not to, if you're at all worried -- does Ju-On at least have a plot? I don't feel the american version has much in the way of plot. Or an ending.

not a spoiler question, but it does have a plot.

the american versions of these j-horror movies try to make american movies out of them, and in doing so, its my opinion that the american versions lose something.

i liked the japanese version of dark water for example, but the american one was just terrible and inserted scenes that made the movie just not make sense.

I understood your point -- I've heard it made before by many people, and not just on this board.

Now please, answer my question -- does it have a plot? I'm pretty easy, when it comes to movies: they have to really suck for me to dislike them. Grudge really sucked, but in only one way -- the ending left me feeling unfinished. I didn't mind the atmospherics, if they had only led somewhere.

I mean, The Ring at least had a plot...

Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election

I'm not sure why I torture myself with this stuff. I can't help it. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

That's what I thought after seeing the preview on another Tartan Asia release...

Therefore, it languishes pretty far down my Quere...after watching The Yards & Cisco Pike last night, I'll probably get skipped over for all my newer releases once again, ending up with Friday Night Lights and (maybe) Comic Book Villians...
