i want to get something entertaining, yet cheap, used at gamestop. preferably something with multiplayer, no football/baseball/basketball/soccer/golf/hockey games. i like shooting things, i don't want something that takes forever to learn.

any suggestions?

I know there is a joke here, but dammit if I'm not nonplussed on this one.

Done GTA, and TS is a little too stupid for my liking, but I'm interested in MGS. My impression was that it was pretty complex... is that wrong?

What I like about TS is the dual mission mode. It is really simple, though.

Metal Gear Solid is pretty complex, yeah... but you get to shoot things...? Each for the PS2 are fairly equal, but they do three difficulty levels in which to pass the game on.

Resident Evil 4?

Might not be able to find that used. It's not too complicated to play, but it's a difficult game.

How cheap? There's a bunch of the Greatest Hits titles for $20 each.

I bought Killzone and it was pretty fun even though I don't particularly like first person shooters.

Don't get Devil May Cry 2...it sucked. Get the first one or the new one (3) just came out in a special edition.

If you want something like MGS but a little easier try one of the Splinter Cell games.

All of the Prince Of Persia games are pretty good.

Amplitude. You must own this.

If you've heard of Guitar Hero (I think there was a thread about it here), it's by the same developers.

It's a music game where you hit notes on each of the tracks, get bounuses for hitting multiple tracks without messing up, etc. Its honestly the most addicting thing I have ever played. I've never logged more hours on a game. I've owned it for three years and I still would play it almost daily if It was here at school with me.

Some of the early tracks really suck (P.O.D. was particularly painful), but once you're done with them you never have to go back, and the later tracks re so much fun to play through it's more than worth it.

You can get it for 14 bucks at amazon, I think its getting hard to find new or even used.

Highly, highly, highly recomended. Its a shame this game was so overlooked.

we've got GT A-Spec, but I'm not that into these realistic racing games so much. i'll look into amplitude... the crappy crap music doesn't make it too painful?
