gimme some bands, albums and songs that are great for parties with heaps of bass and killer beat, but something that isnt commercial without being overly unaccessible.

I'm thinking One Nation Under a Groove followed by Dirty Mind/1999 era Prince

to derail for a moment, i just saw them at a show the other night. moving units was snoozeville. the bravery put on a good show, but all the pout and pomp was a thin veil for the derivative nature of their songs. i hope the full-length will be better than the ep. ps, the rhythm guitarist looks great in eyeshadow.

The new Afrika Bambaataa is a monster of a party album, nothing but big bass heavy beats and lots of fun, nothing serious, nothing too out there. It's oin his style of hip-hop/electro funk. Absolutely a great party record.

Oh fuck yes! Or check out Akufen- Fabric 17, his new mix album.

Other artists to get the bass pumpin:
Matthew Dear
Miss Kittin
Felix Da Housecat
Controller.Controller

I saw Swayzak do a live set over the weekend- SO disappointing!

Roni Size has a new album coming out in Jan, I'm excited to hear that.

Wow...I can't believe no one has said:

LCD Soundsystem - Losing My Edge

Kids go crazy for that song out there...Then again, they also love it when you mix Liquid Liquid into Ludacris' "What's Your Fantasy", so maybe the kids don't know all that much...

Oh snap, I forgot about LCD Soundsystem. I picked up the Movement EP the other day, and that shit's hot.

I can't wait for their full-length.
