I'm doing a few sets tomorrow night at "my old night," but it's been a good long while since I've bothered to do this. I trust my judgement, but hey why not check in with the good people Obner: what would you be excited about hearing at an "indie" night these days?

Flipside: if you heard, I dunno, Wolf Parade, you'd probably scream hang the DJ, right?

I hear they love "Pendulum" by Broadcast and "Hit The North" by The Fall at that place. ;)

Post your playlist after.

Does anyone care about the DJs at the Plan anymore?

I second the Wolfmother.

it depends a lot on how snobbish the crowd is, too. Is this like a dance thingy or is it people standing around trying to smoke and look cool?

I think this is more an excuse for me to hang out than it being anything too serious. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I went.

As such, no clue if it's still the same "bands with people playing music between sets" or "bands play then cigarette break oh hey that one song...."

People simply have never danced at the Plan.

Wolfmother would be pretty funny.

you should just play Wolfmother and Dead Meadow at unbearable volumes. hilarity ensues.

Yeah, it never really turned into what I hoped it would.

Well...it turned into something different and equally as good, if not better. But I'm consistently surprised at how often I see people dancing to the exact same music at nights in other cities, but rarely at Boston "indie" nights. Just one of those things..

OK but really. That Guillemots song is too much fun. No real chorus, per se, but golly gee wiz.

Glad to hear it. I've only heard that one song via the blogs and such. Although, I checked out the rest of the stuff on their site and wasn't too blown away...but, seems like they have talent to spare. That can't be a bad thing.
