A couple of former work buddies drug me along last night to see the Larry The Cable Guy movie. There's actually a scene of him shitting in it. Page the Academy, 'cause this one has Oscar (Madison) written all over it.

I'm worried my friend in Longview, TX might drag me to see it this coming weekend when I visit him. He's slowly becoming hicktified. It's kind of sad to see. I'm not always unamused by Larry, but this movie seems like the cinematic equivalent of a William Hung album. Seeing that it doesn't have very many reviews on rottentomatoes.com, I think critics are trying to pretend it doesn't exist.

Tony Hale from Arrested Development is in it, playing a wheelchair-bound co-worker of Larry's. Hilarity ensues. Biff from Back to the Future is Larry's boss, displaying all the subtlety of Niedermayer in those Twisted Sister videos.

Holy crap. I've been to Longview. (Marshall, Tyler & Waskom, too).

he was on Hannity and Combs the other night and it was funny watching him wrestle in his mind if he should stay in character or not.

he stoped talking in his dumb fake accent a few times when he was talking about "the troops" but then hew was like, "wait, i think the troops like that voice" so he went back in character.

IF LARRY THE CABLE GUY STOPS TALKING IN CHARACTER THE TERRORISTS WIN!!!!!!

Amazingly films like this get made because they are cheap as hell to make and reap HUGE profits on DVD. I wouldn't be surprised to see another 1 or 2 hit.

As for the critics, I'm sure they know what they are up against with seeing this film, so they probably don't want to waste their time.

It's like when the Jackass movie came out. It was heralded as "the only movie to ever receive 0 stars". I imagine we can expect the same from this one.

They're not stupid - the movie wasn't screened for critics before its release.

I like Jackass and all the crap like that, but that is about as low as I go for low brow comedy.
To me this Larry the Cable Guy film is a complete piece of shit that is not only not funny, but most of the jokes in the preview are insulting to almost everyone but a freaking white hick from Nebraska acting as if he is some southern redneck.
How many times does somebody need to hear git r done before they realize it is making them dumber everytime they hear it and say it.
It's kind of like what Bob Saget said at the end of his run with AFHV. You can only see a grown man get hit in the crotch so many times by a plastic bat or a ball until you finally say enough is enough, only thing here is that most people should have said enough about Larry after the first time they saw his lame act.

You do realize that the Air Force I believe made Git-R-Done their official motto, right?

So what if it's dumb low-brow humor? It's not going to be any worse than Dodgeball or Anchorman, other than both of those had Christine Taylor & Christina Applegate to distract from the intelligence being sucked out of your ears as you watched.

Sure it looks awful. But could it be that much worse than Dumb & Dumberer or Shallow Hal?

Yeah, but I think there's a big difference between dumb movies made by smart people and dumb movies made by dumb people.

I don't think Larry is dumb at all. I have no problem with him cashing in after doing little radio bits for years. Hell, I even found a decent amount of his radio material to be pretty funny.

The sequel, Rodney. Not the original.

Smart people should know better.
