You're too picky. What, just breathing isn't good enough for ya? you want them to be able to walk on thier own too?

Personally, I would draw the line on wearing Depends. If they get to that stage it's over. Unless they have bucks then it could just be starting!

Is it wrong for me to ask for someone living? Depends? I dunno...going out with a guy who has squishy drawers just doesn't sound appealing.

Yup, you're right. I'm too picky.

Be picky, T. Save the bullshit of dealing w/ people who you feel like you're settling for.
That's my guiding principle for the rest of my (hopefully short) time here in Flint. I tell ya, my time in Austin last month confirmed my dry spell isn't because I'm doing something wrong. It's this place.

I hate to say it, but like you, I'm fairly certain my locale is one of the contributing problems.

don't settle, but also remember that the best people on earth aren't always obviously awesome.

They need a sign or have their friend pass me note that reads, "Date this guy, he's secretly awesome!"

Cowboys are frequently secretly…

Wait, that's totally different. My bad.

This is so true!
In spite of what I said earlier, no, you aren't too picky.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Everyone should have a I-Like-You/I-Don't-Like You, police style, flashing light attached to the top of their head which is hardwired to the brain.

If you met someone and like them it will flash green and emit the 'yes, please' klaxon. If you met someone and you have no dating interest in them, it will flash red and emit a 'not in a million years' klaxon.

You don't seem like the eHarmony kind of girl. The only people I know who have tried that are right-wing Christians (and myself when I saw friends getting dates left and right).

There should be a music geek dating service. You put in your top five bands and you get matched with someone who has similar taste. No more blind dates with boys who only have Kenny Rogers and Lionel Ritchie in their cd player.

(no offense to Kenny, I'm just sayin')

Ha! It was recommended to me by a fellow Obner who has been trying it out. While not a right-wing Christian (gag!), I figured it would be an option. Interestingly enough, I've made music one of my main interests, so we shall see how things work out.

It might be locale, but i think there's a lack of interesting/decent people anywhere you go.

You luck out, you hang on. You don't luck out, time to go fish.

Nothing wrong with mr. right now, but you're never going to turn her into mr. right, but you know all that.

Though some people (myself included) would be impossible to pin down on this, and dating a music geek seems like you would eventually want to kill them.

Although, I don't know if I could be with anyone who blanket dismissed the Rolling Stones, almost everything else could be tolerated.

my #1 pre-requisite for a significant other... (besides being a huge music fan in general....which is ultimately #1) is that they have to love the grateful dead.....OR AT LEAST respect the fact that i do.

(oh, and they can't call me 'man-hating' because i also love ani difranco.)
