You guys can't come up with a more recent picture than this?

Anyone at all interested in this album? Anyone?

I certainly won't rush out to buy it, but I am interested in hearing the songs. But then, this has always been the case with the Chili Peppers for me.

I was flipping through Kiedis' biography at a bookstore over the weekend. I was interested in skimming through it and looking at the picture sections, but I sure as hell wasn't going to buy it.

rhcp was one of the first rock bands i ever listened to, so they have a special place with me... however after one hot minute my love for them piped down.

They always sound great to me, but the songs aren't always there after I shut it off. Except for 'Scar Tissue', that was a good one. Rubin produced it again, so I'm interested in the sound.

I'm with Kabob, ayah and Radcliffe on this one. Yuck.

"Aeroplane" is so bad Smash Mouth wouldn't touch it.

dude, Hillel couldnt hold Frusciante's jock playing wise.

The Chili Peps are a band I go back and forth on. The early shit was fun, BSSM is a CLASSIC both sonically and material-wise (maybe Rubin's best work) and everything subsequent has been spotty.

"Californication" has probably the best hook of the last few years though.

Frusicante is one of my favorite guitarists and Flea is my favorite bassist but for some reason I'm never in the right mood to listen to the peppers

I second this, the last time I actually got into a whole album of theirs was with Bloodsugarsexmagik. Since then, it seems they mainly crank out ballads.

this incredibly unfair. have you guys listened to "freakey styley"? produced by george fucking clinton. 'inept funk moves'? download "brother's cup" and try and say that again. there are certainly all sorts of points where you can say this band started sucking....after freakey styley, after hillel died, as soon as one hot minute came out, since californication, since by the way. the point is that they have managed to mature pretty gracefully (which is surprising for the cock-sock boys)

i listen to a song like 'can't stop' from By The Way and think..."damn, that's still pretty damn good for a band whose peak was arguably in 1985."

talk all the shit you want about 'one hot minute' and afterwards (even though i might not agree) but from freakey styley until blood sugar sex magik those are some seriously pretty good albums.

If they come on the radio, I probably won't change the station. But it's been a looooooooooooooong time since I have sought them out.

sadly i didn't even look at who wrote the post and just spouted that all off in a rage. to think that it was all just a waste of time (as if the rest of the posts on this board aren't :D )

i wonder why i even felt so strongly about it 3 hours ago...i guess i feel more about them as someone said earlier...i go back and forth on them and definitely recognize when their shit is veritably shitty.

they're just all too good of musicians (except kiedis i guess) to be compared to nickelback, even if it was radcliffian hyperbole.

Next, they reignited a personal feud between Kiedis and Mr. Bungle singer Mike Patton by refusing to play a series of European concerts with Bungle. Patton responded with a "tribute" show for the Peppers, where Bungle mocked their stage moves, faked shooting up heroin, and imitated Kiedis's comments about Patton.

haha
