I don't have to be at work till noon, but i have to stay at school till 6:15.

I'm counting on you.

Not one parent will want to talk to me about their student's music grade. Not one.

That's fine, they're probably assholes anyways, but that's a long time to have nothing to do.

Some people outside my window were just talking about "f-ing brownies". That's all of the conversation I caught. I was going to ask if they were homemade, but then realized they probably weren't going to share and, thus, I didn't care.

That's been the most exciting part of my day so far.

hey hey hey

My son didn't have classes either because of this friggin day. I think it's stupid as hell.

And the After School Care program in his school was originally closed today til apparently a bunch of the parents bitched at the Principal stating" Just because you don't want to hand them out the old fashioned way doesn't mean I can miss a day of work".

At least that's what one parent told him from what I heard. ha

Might be a racial slur.

How much is there, really, to tell a parent about a kid's music grade?

By the way, wouldn't it be smart to E-mail report cards to parents? I mean, who doesn't have an E-mail address these days?

Jen, I agree with you. Not having the students bring them home is dumb. They can't even trust the students? Geez, we had to bring them home, and returned them signed. If it wasn't returned signed, then the parents got a phone call. I was always proud to bring mine home. Can't they email them to the parents or something?

Chris, are you counting points and stuff?

That wouldn't surprise me, but I really just want to think about brownies as baked goods.

Yeah. Apparently they're supposed to weigh me today and determine how many points I get a day.

Seriously.

I took my report card home, and handed it to my parents. That's a great motivator for staying on task in school, knowing that if you screwed up, you gotta do the long walk home and then get your ass beat.

Mailing it isn't really an option, every time CTU mails a ballet to all the teachers, it costs an extra $20,000. In fucking stamps? Maybe, almost 900 schools... I can't even imagine what it would cost to mail report cards to parents 4 times a year...

This shit should all be online.

And so it begins...

Eating out should be interesting at first. Otherwise, I think you'll do fine. It's a cool thing.

We'll see. It should be interesting when I only have 2 points left by noon, and can only have one grape until I go to sleep. :D

There are a lot of stay at home parents here.

Also, we've only got, like, ten kids in our school.

They argue that the kids are too poor to have technology.

I call bullshit. They just choose to spend their $ on useless technology for their kids, like PSPs and Gameboy Advance, cell phones that they can watch video on, ipods loaded with shitty top 40, but they cry poor when it comes to a computer for their kid to write a paper on or get online to do research at home.

When I first started I couldn't even use all my points. Then again, I was nearing muu muu wearing weight.

Sexy.

Phil, being a parent has it's advantages.
You get to decide how the money is spent.

There are some things points do not apply for.

At previous jobs, you wouldn't talk so much about the grade as where the kids improving, where they need improvement, are they in private lessons, who should they be in lessons with, where to rent or buy a good instrument for the money, etc...

With these kids/parents, it'd pretty much be, "your kid's a talentless fuck, and a prison-bitch-in-training. What's it like to be a total failure as a parent?"
