Would you read books or study guides on your iPod? If you could, would you use your iPod to study a language or college course? Do you think something like this would be useful? Would reading books on your iPod be something that you would do?

Probably not books or study guides just because the screen is so small that i'd probably get headaches but i do like the language idea.

I'd try that.

What I should have said was...

What kind of fucking idiot wants to watch music videos or movies on a two inch screen?

I'd be a good mixture of visuals and sound...plus portable.

If and when the new ver. of the Ipod comes out, the screen will be at least an inch larger, which will make things a tad easier. I think you underestimate the fact that people watch crap on their ipods.

Didn't someone make some kind of magnifier that attaches to the front of the iPod and enlarges the size of the screen? If not, someone could make a mint doing this. Recently I saw on YouTube that some guy had programmed Doom II to play on his video iPod...awesome.

This past week I sold off my unopened Nano because I wanted something with more storage and video capability. I'm thinking about getting the 20GB video one.

Anyone want to give me some tips and tricks? I took a look at iPod lounge but it wasn't very helpful.

I could totally see kids using this for supplemental resources in any subject, especially if they come out with that touchscreen shit.

Multiple choice practice quiz, flash card style studying of facts/vocabulary, etc...

in a college setting it would be especially helpful for music majors to quiz on music theory examples, symphonic lit excerpts like from the Norton Anthology of Western Music (every music major has those books and buys those cds and they're crazy pricey), pedagogical video reference for music ed majors...

It could be sick.

You just gotta have vision.

If you could carry a searchable version of your textbook on your ipod wouldn't you rather carry that to class instead of your fucking heavy ass books? Leave the book at home to study with...

download lecture notes from your professor to listen to on your commute or if you miss a class because you're sick or hungover

Is a cell phone just a phone these days?

Nothing is *just* one thing any more, lines are getting blurred

this is exactly what i'm looking at.

my wife is a teacher as well, and she said that the majority of students have ipods, and that they would definitely use them to study for specific subjects.

the music theory angle seems very interesting as well.

Yeah but if you were smart enough to program in a book, then you could also program an automatic scrolling function.
