so last night, i went to see the new pornographers/archer prewitt at a private event sponsored by jack daniels. tix were free, but leading up to the show, one had to go out to specific bars/clubs at specified times to meet the "jack daniels girls" asking really easy music trivia questions for said tix. problem was/is/will be (b/c it might come to your town soon) that jack gives out 3x as many tix as a venue will hold, w/ the thought that at least 25% won't show. once inside, the place had been redecorated in everything "jack," and all one could order to drink was either jack or pbr -- both, not even remotely my faves. the np started off slowly, and, no, there was no neko, but by the end they were so "jacked up" that they were cookin'! problem was this, inside many of the eventees were these little turds who didn't know shit about any kind of music --tix were free and everyone got 2 free drink vouchers -- while many real fans with tix were left out -- when the tix say doors open at 8, they mean it!

funny thing was, it was the first time that i've seen a band that i really admire sell-out for some jack.

they should team up with whitney houston for a "jack and coke" tour
