anyone? All fiddles and banjos and shit. They remind me of the Boggs in that raucous, stomping roots way. Apparently they're absolutely incredibly live. Yay? Nay?

I picked up "Four Thieves Gone" a few months ago after reading about em in Paste magazine.

I really liked it after a few listens but I haven't been compelled to put it back on in a while. I've heard they smoke live also.

They have some interesting ideas in the "folk framework" and that album has a few really good songs on it. The slower songs are when they lose me a bit. They aren't the best singers ever and they tend to shout their harmonies instead of sing them but that never stopped anyone worth their salt.

I dig em and the good outweighs the bad on their latest.

Wow. That's a great song. Kind of reminds me of Neutral Milk Hotel.

I liked the song Paste had on their sampler CD last month ("Talk On Indolence", I believe).

Sounded pretty interesting, the chorus reminded me of the Violent Femmes.

i haven't been crazy about their studio stuff, but i just saw a live video that was awesome (i think it was in last month's issue of paste). it was the most punk-as-fuck acoustic performance i've ever seen. i definitely want to get the chance to see them live.
