Really? Holy crap you do need more FB.

And yeah, Teenager is openly the best album of the 1990's.

I think I'd rank Cult of Ray a little higher.

Maybe I have something against that album and it's not THAT bad in the least but its not better than what's above it.

1. Black Letter Days
2. Show Me Your Tears
3. Teenager Of The Year

after that I'd need to listen to 'em to decide...Honeycomb is prob dead last. 1 & 2 would be above any Pixies album

It's a shame that so many people are on crack these days.

Pish posh. He's also better live with his band than the Pixies ever where.

I have s/t, teenager, black letter days, and cult of ray, but I am flabbergasted to think that some people rank these higher than pixies albums but I guess we'll agree to disagree

yeah teenager was a great album, but overall his solo career has been one huge "meh" for me

I do enjoy many of the songs, but it'll never have the same impact that growing up with the Pixies did. There was nothing released that was close to what I experienced when I heard Doolittle for the first time in 1990.

That has a lot to do with how old you where because I hold the Pixies up like that as one of my five favorite bands of all time or whatever because of when I got into them and all that. At this point though I would much rather listen to FB. Its just better

Of course I also think Trompe and Bossanova are the best Pixies albums.

Pixies are a really fun listen but I think of them as being a lot more style than substance. Black really grew as a songwriter over the last ten years. I have much more respect for his recent (leaving honeycomb aside) work than I do for the pixies although I really enjoy both. Its also probably has alot to do with that his songs off black letter days just speak to me more where I am in my life now (late 30's) than pixies possibly still could.

I only have two Pixies albums and no Frank Black albums...I guess I need to fix that. Any advice? Stone?

i've never seen the pixies live but fb played a solo show here in a very small club during the black letter days cd and completely tore the shit out of the place. people went crazy and it was easily one of the best shows i have ever seen in my life.

weirdly, i've heard most of his stuff with the exception of teenager of the year.
i think i had two babies going when that came out.
