From reading Polly's thread...

It seems like everyone in the US is on some kind of medication for whatever, depression, pain, heart stuff, lung stuff, so on...

What I´m wondering is... Is there ANYONE here that isn´t on something? I've never been on regular medication for anything. I can't be alone here. All this medicating freaks me out. Anyone?

Does Claritin and booze count as medication?

nope. Not on any prescribed medicine. I do get migraines but they are not that frequent. All I have is an over the counter bottle of Excedrin Migraine.

But, for those people that complain about their headaches that don't get or never have gotten a migraine I have very little sympathy for. :)

Nope, just my prenatal vitamins.

They may be prescribed but they aren't meds, just really awesome vitamins.

No major drugs... Claritin right now for allergies. Multi-vitamins and vitamin C every morning with brekkie. Calcium chews a couple of times a day (I'm at that age where I need it). Aspirin, tylenol pm only when needed. Oh, and birth control pills... I'll probably be on these the rest of my life.

I drink coffee and tea regularly, but that's nothing new (e.g. caffeine-centric habits predate the current overmedicating by at least several generations).

welcome to my morning.
started last night but i take meds to stay alseep and then woke up with a head crushing whopper. i was out of everything so i had to drag my ass to the store at 7--completely unheard of on a day off--and pick this up. overmedicated myself, per usual, and went back to bed wwearing sunglasses and a baseball hat.

just woke up and it's still lingering but at least i can open my eyes now.
i get it, h-o.

Even though we have some older folks here -- aren't tentoze and harry in their fifties? -- I don't think anyone has reached the target demo for needing Viagra. I could be wrong though.

Nah, but I used to take allergy medicine as a kid.

I occasionally buy over the counter stuff now, and would probably start taking it regularly if I ever got a pet. If I got a cat, I'd have to.

The future is okay for you young cockswains. Even though I currently reside in a monastery, and thus have no need for it, shit works.

I take Synthroid every day. I generally distrust the pharmaceutical industry, but the drug I take is actually useful and doesn't contain any notable side effects.

I should clarify, I'm not "on meds". It's just that once every couple of years my asthma gets bad and I have to take yucky medication for it. The same as if you got and ear infection or strep throat and had to take antibiotics.

Outside of that it's only espresso, vitamins, and the odd Advil for headaches for me.

edit: as a side note, I was quite impressed by the doctor I saw the other day---he actually asked me if I wanted to go on antibiotics or get an X-ray first. I opted for the X-ray... antibiotics are nasty.

I do not envy you ayah. The most major one I received was a couple years ago. I never had one as bas as that and I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It was at 11pm when I was in CA and I called my dad to see what he said. I woke the poor man up at 2am because I had a migraine. It felt like my brain was going to crack my skull when I bent down to pick something up.

Then I had to sit in a room (because I was still on shift) with all the lights off and the door barely open.

Then the nausea. Then the toilet bowl.

The only cure is about 10 hours of sleep without waking up.

Ugh. My ass gets numb as it is. I can't even imagine what it would feel like if my partner took that shit.

Well, I took some acne medication for the short run back in high school, notably Tetracycline and Accutane.
