MONO - 05/12 - @ Nanci Raygun - Richmond VA
w/ Pelican, The Life and Times

I may try very hard to attend this. I wonder if tickets are still available.

Any of you people gonna go?

I actually am planning on going. Tickets are still available, but I may get them at the door.

By the way, they don't sell tickets for some shows in advance, and the Raygun is a pretty small venue, so you might want to show up early if you don't already have tickets.

you think that they'll still be available?

How much are the tickets?

I won't bet my life on it, but I'm positive that there will still be some available at the door. Call up the venue and ask if there's any way to get them in advance. 804.353.4263. If you can't get any, just show up about 30 minutes before the doors open and you'll be fine.

Ah. ok. What's funny is I was going to change my name recently to textual intercourse, but that may not be prudent right now eh?

no. it's not a problem. he can do what he wants obviously, but that's when we usually hang out and we go to 99.9% of the concerts we attend together.
and he never mentioned it.
so i am just curious.

At least this one was more direct. I couldn't be bothered with 6 pages of all that...

Here's a Mono song from their newest album...

Code:
http://download.yousendit.com/4ACBDFA95D3638C9

It's nothing I'd travel to see, but it's in town and it's something to do on a Friday night. I normally only like this type of music if it's harsher/noisier, but it's not offensively bad, and I'll take what I get in Richmond. I'm not positive I'm going yet, but I'll probably be there.

I'd say mono is pretty damn noisy. Which song is that, by the way. Rather, which track number?

crackhead: You don't know anything about Mono? Do you like Explosions in the Sky? If not I would avoid coming down to see it. They are not all that comparable but are definitely in the same genre.

oh. ok. I misunderstood. I thought when you said you didn't know anything about any of the bands I thought you meant any of them. Silly me. haha.

It's track six. Moonlight. They're really not noisy at all though.

honestly i didn't read closely and didn't know that mono was playing at all. all of my friends keep talking about wanting to see pelican, so i assumed that they were headlining. but you know what happens when you assume.

That's my favorite one on the album. Although, track 3 is pretty great too, to me. It just seems like, especially around minute 7:34 when it all comes in really loud that they would be loud live. But, I have never seen them. So, I will take your word for it.

Crackhead: I know nothing about Pelican. sorry.

Unfortunately, I cannot now. I got grounded by a previous committment that I had forgotten about. Hope whoever goes enjoys it. I will be envious.
